The gym features bouldering, top rope, and lead climbing options, catering to both beginners and seasoned climbers. The facility is clean, with helpful staff and free rental gear for first-timers. However, recent changes, including a price increase and a reduction in rope climbing areas, have been a point of concern among some members. Great bouldering gym, with lots of top rope, and leading options. It might few of the gyms which have such heightened walls to climb. Great vibe

Pros: Lovely staff, huge gym in generalCons: Increased prices from 115 to 135 with one months notice. Seriously, what the heck? This is the main reason for my rating.Summer program is a glorified daycare with kids running everywhere, especially on the mats. I don’t mind kids but there are way too many for the staff to handle.Wood walls make it impossible to smear, which is quite necessary for bouldering.Route setting highly favors tall folks.

I have been going to this gym since March 2022. I think the bouldering route setting is very mediocre and although they claim to be an inclusive gym, I find the routes are often more advantageous for tall climbers (routes are often made harder by increasing the distance). I would appreciate if the route setters could give some thoughts on "short person's beta".The rope climbing is decent, I particularly like the "tongue" and the lead climbing section. However, it seems that the rope climbing area has gotten smaller with the new renovations, so I am not happy about that. Cambridge already has a a boulder-only CRG and I don’t see the point of having another bouldering focused gym. A nice addition of this gym to the area would be the rope section. The new co-working space is a bit ridiculous, very small and dark. It’s not suitable for working at all. Generally I think they could invest a bit more in designing a visually pleasing hang out area. Now it just looks like they didn’t know what to do with the couches and tables.I also obviously don’t like that they are increasing prices with less than a month of notice.

EDIT August 9 2023: They have just increased their prices by THIRTY (that's three zero) percent. Day pass with rentals will cost $40+ now. New ownership seems intent on enshittifying what was once a great gym. Going from 5 -> 3 stars.Original Review:It's a corporate mega gym with all the benefits and drawbacks. Expensive, but worth the price. They are actually expanding their facilities, which is a good sign and keeps me wanting to pay dues. Go at off hours if you are a serious climber, oversubscribed horrendously otherwise. The good:- If you are new to climbing, this is a great place to get started since they have lots of space to try everything out.- If you are an experienced climber, they reset frequently enough that you won't get bored and they have the best accessory equipment of any gym I have ever visited (weights, kilter board, hangboards, etc.).- The hours are AMAZING. The only gym I have ever seen that opens early, great for climbing before work. The bad:- Basically turns into a daycare on the weekends with unsupervised kids running all over the place. Get there early if you want to get a decent session in.- Expensive, just like the rest of Cambridge. Day pass with rentals was almost $30.- Circuit grading on the boulders (though you might not care about this one):Most climbs are all crimps, all pinches, etc. with no variety. Sometimes you will endlessly project a V3-5 and then flash the V6-8 right next to it. Some of the climbs are just egregiously reach-y. Thankfully with so many boulders set you can always find something to work on, but it's annoying regardless.Unrelated to the actual facility itself - this is the SINGLE CHALKIEST gym I have EVER climbed at. Seriously, there are other gyms in the area that have those bulk bowls of chalk out in the bouldering area that are STILL less chalky than this place. People just layer it on here and I have no idea why. Routinely have to brush holds that are just caked in a thick layer of chalk to the point that they have zero texture. Truly baffling.

New ownership ruined it. All of the amazing artwork has been painted over with paint in drab, bland colors. The place has a sterile corporate vibe compared to what it once was. Their new computer system is glitchy too. The lounge downstairs has been removed, as has been the coworking upstairs.

I have been here a couple times with my friends now. As a complete beginner, I really only have tried some bouldering and the auto-belays, but those were both a lot of fun. My first couple experiences were fantastic. The staff was super helpful and friendly, as well as genuinely knowledgeable about rock climbing and were patient and helpful with me and my friends. The other climbers were also friendly and helpful as well which was really cool. The auto-belays are simple to use and great for beginners. Overall very happy with my experience and definitely plan on coming back.

Great gym and vibe. It's very big with plenty of routes. For boulders they have a lot of overhang. The rental shoes and chalk bag are free for first timers. But those shoes are very slippery

Nice bouldering gym. The bouldering is two áreas. One downstairs that replicates a tall bouldering competition wall and a smaller and shorter bouldering wall upstairs. Good amount of problems to keep you busy for many sessions.Setters are very creative and use the wall inclination very well.Rope walls are great. They have plenty of top rope and lead only routes.Friendly staff. Clean restrooms and showers.
