I have been a part of Bar Method for almost 5 years. I noticed significant changes in my body within the first few months! As a former personal trainer, Physical Therapy Assistant and Yoga Instructor, I can honestly say this is the “smartest workout.” Your body becomes very lean and very strong at the same time. The muscles you strengthen will support your body in ways that will prevent injury. The community of women is just as wonderful as the workouts. These women are positive, upbeat and inviting! I think all people should add Bar to their fitness regime.

I suffer from three forms of arthritis. Most of my joints have permanent swelling and severe damage. My joint pain is chronic. I was incapable of any type of workout for more than a few weeks without injury or substantial pain.I have taken Pilates, yoga, Zumba, belonged to several gyms and hired a personal trainer in an attempt to get stronger.By the age of 50 the degenerative damage to my spine was beyond surgery due to the deformity caused by my disease..I discovered Bar MethodAfter attending Bar Method for a few years I decided to attempt seeing my surgeon again. He said it was astounding how strong my core had become. At 63 I was now a candidate for a full on spinal surgery. I was now able to withstand having my four lower vertebrae fused and my spine supported by two rods and a ton of hardware to stabilize it. I also learned that my new core strength had been holding me up since my spine was no longer doing so on it’s own.The nearly unbearable back pain is gone. My disease still exists but because I was able to withstand multiple spine surgeries I look and feel “normal”.Instead of a wheel chair at 65 it’s Barr class at 9:45.It’s sounds so small but it comes from a very grateful heart.... Thank you, Thank you so very very much.Sarah R.💜
