I really like this gym. For the most part it's a great place to work out. But if you are a little on the heavy side like I am and have struggled with a reason to exist due to people laughing at you. Then I don't suggest you go the gym late night/early morning because a young skinny female employee will laugh at you with other gym members. Just as I was starting to get confident and feel good about myself, that employee ruined it and has discouraged me from going back.

Worst gym ever, showers have no doors or curtains, what the hell is wrong with this place? I cant even take a shower without having 8 naked people looking at me.

There are 10 monitors in the aerobic machine area. Recently 4 of the 10 monitors runs non stop 24 Fitness commercial video. People to for machines where they do not have to stare at that crap. I asked receptionist said she knew it was an issue, everyone was complaining and I could leave a message for the manager. I did and will continue until this is changed.

Machines break frequently and days and days go by without being serviced. Repeatedly, staff is indifferent to requests for repairs to be done on machines that have been broken for days. TV programs have poor quality sound and minimal variety. Definitely not a location to recommend to others.

The place has doesn't appear to have been significantly updated since the 80s. Equipment is in okay shape but could be better maintained. Its often crowded, but manageable. The price is good at $30 per month.

Gym is awful, everything is completely outdated and dirty. All of the equipment looks like it has not been updated in years. They renovated the court which is nice but for the volume of people who regularly go here it seems like a big F you to anyone who is actually here to lift. I understand that you get what you pay for but this gym has to have made a fair amount of money over the past few years and really does not have an excuse not to renovate/at the least try to keep everything cleaned and well-maintained.

A mess. And messy. Weights scattered around and not reracked, equipment dirty and rarely wiped down (broken ones seem clean), and despite admonishment toward gym bags & purses on floor the place is littered with them. Good example of state of biz - closed today for some reason with no way to find out when re-opening (website has nada & phone just rings). Shop around - I am now.

I've been to eight 24 Hour Fitness clubs in 3 states. None of them were as dirty and un-updated as the Thousand Oaks gym. This gym needs a total makeover. I can't even believe that they DO NOT require a Towel upon entering the gym. Nor do they have signs that ask members to "wipe down machines" when they are done with them. As a result, most people don't wipe down the equipment after they have used it. Often, you will see pools of sweat from people's hair and back's all over the ab equipment. I know two people that have gotten staff infections directly from dirty gym equipment. In addition, the equipment is very old and is not logically placed according to muscle groups. Lastly, the place is totally packed from 5-7, so much so that you need to wait for parking spaces and equipment. If only they would just start by asking members to use proper hygiene, it would totally help make this place a lot better.
