The people that work here are useless. They're all teenagers that never look up from their phones, and don't hear a word you say. I told them TWICE when signing up that I don't want the year long commitment membership, I only want the membership for a few months because I'm moving. A few months later when I tired to cancel, they told me I had signed up for a year. And of course, there is no way out of it. Now I'm stuck paying for a membership I don't want, need, or use.

The equipment is old and hasn’t been updated in almost 20 years. Locker rooms recently updated but lockers are cheap. My lifetime membership is $99 a year but I rarely go because the clubs feels old.

This is the WORST gym I have ever been too. First I go there with a free 3 day pass from the corporation just to get there and they tell me they are not honoring it. THAT IS FALSE ADVERTISEMENT and almost makes it seem like they give these coupons out to get you to come to the gym and then not honor the coupon and make you pay for a subscription. Also the lady at the front desk was the one of the rudest people I have ever met. She had an attitude even before I said anything and made me feel like It was a burden to her when I would ask her a question. This gym is dirty and I did not have to walk around the gym to know that, I could just see they do not clean it very often. So I called the corporate’s office and he tells me that I called the wrong number and proceeded to give a number that is out of service. This gym and corporation has terrible customer service and it makes me want to go to their competitors that much more.

The equipment is old. Full remodel needed! The sales people are scandalous! They ripped me off charge me for a lifetime membership… They charged for individual personal training sessions I never asked for! When I went to management to correct the situation. They advised me that they were aware of the situation. Gave me the runaround! No customer service skills here! (Manger)

I had a great experience training with Priscilla. I wanted to have a variety of different workouts put together by a trainer, that I could use over and over again on my own. I also wanted to make the workouts as efficient and targeted as possible. With Priscilla’s help, I met that goal. Priscilla is also very positive, energetic and an excellent coach. If you are looking for a trainer in the Thousand Oaks 24 Hour Fitness, look up Priscilla and tell her Paul sent you.

Only reason I switched to this was because it was 24hr. They also have way more equipment than my last gym. The pros stop there.Cons:The gym is OLD. The place is dark and depressing. The locker rooms are OLD, plenty of lockers. The showers are worse than those of a one star motel. The womens and mens locker rooms are next to each other, kinda scary at night. Anyone can just walk in to the womens room. Co-ed sauna and steam room..... arg really? Who thought that was a good idea? Utter laziness in design and does not make women feel comfortable.I WOULD PAY SO MUCH MORE IFFemale and Male locker rooms are separate across the gymWomen only, Men only sauna, jacuzzi and heat roomsBigger shower stalls with lockable doors

The representative Austin A at the front outright lied about me having to pay 10$ to use my free membership and would not let me work out until I gave him my ID and signed me up to get his comission after I told him I just wanted the 10 day membership and lied about what he said after I called him on it. I hope management doesn't condone those practice but it made them lose my business in the far foreseeable future. Good thing Kevyn was there to save the day. She's pretty cool sometimes.

Filthy and Gross. The staff gets paid to stand around chatting, Ive never seen an employee wiping down the machines and have been a regular for several months. No one working there including the manager could give me a an accurate cancel date for my membership so I ended wasting time and missing my workout after driving here for nothing. After witnessing the appalling conditions of this gym it surprising the oxnard location was the only one to get tuberculosis(google it). Don't use the lockers becuase theives inconsistently break into lockers and steal peoples items. Its a huge problem but 24 plays it down as much as possible. Also this gym has that terrible mixture of rude meat heads, and people just sitting on machines for 30 mins at time on their cell phones. People often neglect returns their weight so you spend a fair amount time searching for weights, or circulating looking for a open machine or area to do your work out. Finally the smell... yuk this place consconsistently smells like a dirty armpit, but occasionally it smells far worse then BO or unwashed butt, to the point where I had to leave that part of the gym or I was gonna start dry heaving. This place might be right for some people but as consistent gym goer for about 30 years this place skeezes me right out the door. I have serious concerns of contracting sometype of skin cocondition or worse from this dirty place.

Psst...Can I talk to you for a minute or two? Thanks. Let me ask you a question: If you're still a member here, why? The place is filthy dirty and dingy. The men's locker room smells like a sewer and drains are constantly backing up. There are tiles that don't meet the floor and electrical outlets that don't work. Where is the health department? Someone please call them...The equipment is outdated and does not work very well. If you want help from staff you have to hunt for them and they are not very helpful nor very effective as they take their cues from the G.M. who is nothing more than a walking platitude. And if you are looking to join a gym, I would suggest looking elsewhere. There are other places that have better, newer equipment and are CLEAN because the 24 Hr Fitness location in Thousand Oaks is NOT! For example, Golds is very well lit, very clean and has new equipment. Golds also has much more for your hard earned money: a cinema room where movies are shown, tanning booths, personal TVs and lots of staff to help. All included. This is what I would call a "no brainer." But if you need to work out at 3:00 am (really??) then I guess you can join the sewer. My opinion is that 24 Hr would be better if it were a parking lot. Thanks for your attention
