Chuze at Ajo is an amazing place. Why 4 stars? Because it doesn't have enough space and equipment for the amount of people that come to it. They need more cable machines and areas for trx, pull ups, and free weights.Outside of that, the gym is great. The equipment variety is designed for all levels of fitness. The atmosphere is what makes it amazing. They have a wide range of people - people losing weight, young people wanting to improve health, older folks that are scary strong, older folks that are starting their fitness journey, athletes, and friends having fun. They don't have a whole lot of ego driven folks who are on their phones more than lifting and not a whole lot of folks that constantly ego lift. Most everyone is friendly and considerate.Place is clean and bathrooms are kept up. Staff is friendly and helpful. They enforce most rules and etiquette but not in a way that makes it inflexible.Would have been 5 stars had it not been that the place literally is overflowing with people and some waiting time is required for some exercises. If you are an athlete that has a specific routine due to your strength and conditioning needs, make sure you come at less busy time. Otherwise, you need an alternative work out if you are pressed for time.

I cancelled my membership after COVID. Like many I gained so much weight and want to get back in shape . I checked out this gym again to see if they made some improvements but nope. I was there around 7:30 pm it was super packed you had to park behind the building , it looks so crowded inside I will find it hard to grab a machine and not wait. I was told steam room has not worked since December 2022, something about they dont have anyone to fix it or parts take to long. I was also told sauna caught on fire last week and its now out of service too. Even their keyboard to type my info was not working properly. Anyway, I decided not to go back to and keep looking for another gym.

For as long as this company closes their gyms at 8pm on the weekends, they're getting 1 star.*Response from the owner*Here is my reply to that response: Working professionals expect to go to the gym after 5pm, even on weekends. The weekend is also the time that most people are able to go to the gym because most people are busy during the week. This is a transparent attempt by Chuze to lower their operating costs during the busiest hours of the week: Fri-Sun. How do they save costs? By simply not operating during the busiest hours. By contrast, Planet Fitness is at least open until 9pm. It is now 2023. It has been 3 years. You do not get to use "shutdowns" as a valid excuse. We are not stupid. Opening at 4am is not an offset for an early closing. This is not a region-specific issue either. You close the gym at 8pm in three states. Enough corporate greed. In 2 months my wife and I are canceling our memberships for good. I would cancel sooner, but you guys just hit me with an annual membership fee. That is the only reason I am not canceling today. I do not anticipate changing my review any time soon in the future.

Canceled my membership over a year ago and they just...didn't, now they are nowhere to be found when I need to speak with them. They will scam you out of hundreds of dollars and then ignore you. Find a better gym.

I don’t like leaving negative reviews or complaining but it is a bit frustrating that the steam room/saunas are constantly out of service and take a while to get back up and running. Also, the saunas at this location are practically useless. The doors don’t seal so they don’t get very hot. On top of this whenever I call I get sent directly to voicemail, so I can’t even call to see if the equipment is up and running. I leave voicemails and never gets a call back. Overall I think Chuze is a 5 star business, and offers great value. I just hope that this issue is addressed

Their temporary pause in fees is ridiculous. They wanted me to drive all the way across town after I moved to pause my membership. They won't notify you in advance either of when they pull your yearly member dues so you can make sure funds are available. Their website is useless when attempting to communicate with membership staff and they don't return calls. I would never recommend them to anyone as it also seems you are limited which facilities you can use even if you have 3 in the same town. Poorly managed.

I love my Zumba clases and working with all the machines and going in the sauna and steam rooms. Love the massage room too

Chuze is an acceptable middle tier gym, better than Planet, worse than LA. It's priced very well for what you get. Unfortunately, unless you go at off hours you can't get an effective workout at this location. The gym is simply too small for the amount of members it has. If you work a 9 to 5 and want get a workout in the evening look somewhere else. If you workout during these times you will be waiting several minutes for machines, common weight dumbbells, and forget about getting a squat rack. I workout that should take an hour will be double that time. Despite all of this it's still the only real gyms on this side of town, so their really isn't any other options.
