I normally don’t give great reviews like this but I have to say the experience at this particaular 24 hour fitness was subpar.I’m military currently stationed in Germany; been there for the last 2.5 years.I was born and raised in Ventura County. My expired DL says Oceanside, CA.I have a current German DoD drivers license and have not been able to update my CA DL.I signed up for the 3 day free pass. The staff asked for my ID.I gave them my expired DL, forgot to pick it up on my way out. When I returned, I was told “that’s why I have to always ask for my ID before I leave”.I get it, it was my fault. But they had a hard time finding it... It was still my fault.Additionally, to add insult to injury, I was told I could not use the 3 day free pass because I was not a local.I’m sorry. I’m not a “local” from anywhere. I haven’t been a local the last 21 years and counting since I’ve been a service member. The lead “lady” at the gym proceeded to tell me I’d have to pay full price next time I show up because I was not a local. What’s the definition of “local”?I looked at the 24 hour fitness disclaimer in my email and it doesn’t define what local means.Ok, I get it. I politely said thank you and left. This is a great reminder as to why I’ve never joined these gyms, because of the outstanding customer service this country has to offer. As a service member, and soon to be retired service member, I have access to any gym on any base, for life. Thanks 24 hour for giving me a shot. I was impressed when I first walked in, but after your poor customer service and vague contractual verbiage, I’m glad to never give you my business.Good luck and you guys might want to fix your leaking roofs. Buckets can get filled up fast and the moisture from leaking roofs will eventually damage your equipment.

If you are a parent or have toddlers, please avoid 24 hour fitness at all costs. We signed up for this gym in January after touring the new Ventura location and liked their new kids club. We began attending the gym and quickly realized many days the kids club would be full and we would have to wait for either a. A child to leave or b. Another attendant to show up. When paying $30 a month for your child to be able to attend the kids club, you expect the service to be available during normal childcare hours where the service was promised. In November, we received a notice that the kids club would be closing effective December 2. This was a shock, as the gym and kids club were brand new and seemed to always be in use (Especially considering we would have to wait for an opening!) We were told we would be able to attend the Oxnard kids club once the Ventura location closed. The Oxnard location is not close to our home and is not convenient, but we decided to give it a chance anyway. The first week of December I drove to the Oxnard location two times. Both times, the kids club was full! I was not able to take my child in or work out! So 24 Hour fitness closed 3 childcare locations in the surrounding area - Ventura, Port hueneme and Ventura- and added NO extra attendants to the Oxnard location, proving no accommodations for all of the other kids club members now needing to use their facilities.24 hour fitness has shown they do not value Parents, Family or children and will make no accommodations to help families be able to use their facilities. (That we are paying for!) They did not live up to their part of the contract. Every time I encountered another situation with the childcare situation being so poor, I was met with a “sorry, nothing I can do, blame corporate” attitude. Well, we do blame corporate, Shame on 24 hour fitness. We will be taking our business elsewhere, as will every other family with toddlers in Ventura County!**ALSO NOTED: I am STILL waiting for the manager to refund my membership from the date of the kids club closure and give me my money back for services I was never able to use!!!!**

I have been a member since 2014. Started in Colorado, then Oxnard and then Collections and finally Ventura. The one in Ventura was terrible. I say was because as she f yesterday I terminated my membership. The big picture issue is when I enrolled in Colorado it was $27 a month, then started at Collections it went to $29 being military and then slowly I noticed 24 hour fitness started deductions of $33, $37 and now $41. No notice to me of increases. Also when I reached out to have a Manager call or emailMe after 5 requests nothing ever happened. No call back r email nothing. Now yesterday the gym is packed at 5:00 pm. I have my bad with me as I have done since 2014 at allLocations. The employee for the Ventura location physically walked about, through or around at least 10 other people in the weight room with bags, workout gear etc.... to approach me to tell me I had to place my bag in the day use lockers.I can only guess as to why I was selected for this employees wrath? I believe it was because of my race.I asked to speak to the manager. Same employee who had approached me brought the manager over and I quickly informed the manager that f my desire to cancel my membership. She offered dues reduction and I refused.I would like the General Manager to reach out to me.

Was excited about this place at first. Then the second day I went it was your typical gym/social scene with people on there phones. Then management have the trainers doing there dirty work policing people who have there gym bags next to them. News flash we or at least I need my bag so I can access items to train with. Poor customer service. Another 24 trying to get a ton of members so it can be over crowded like the rest. They call this a super sport yet there’s no towel service or basketball court 🤷🏽‍♀️

The gym is really nice (now). It’s all bright and shiny and clean. .I am disappointed they are discontinuing towel service (eventually at all locations). All of the equipment is new and some will take some time to become accustomed to, as the motions and body positions are different. I don’t talk to the service team or trainers very much but they seem nice with what limited interaction I have with them.I don’t like that they now ask for your phone number every time you buy something at the pro shop (drinks, protein bars, etc.) Must be some new marketing or customer relationships program tracking activity and selling the information.Nice place to workout, people usually do their thing and usually leave me alone to do mine, which is all I ask at the gym.

I guess all the new 24 Hour locations are “super sport” now forcing you pay a premium for what are supposed to be extra amenities - yet this location doesn’t even offer towel service.Use 24 for the convenience of being able to work out most places I travel, but not able to use this location unless I pay an extra $25 for a day pass. There are several local gyms that offer $10 day passes. I reccomend those. 3 stars because it looks nice and the customer service is just OK.

Clean facility. But terrible business practices. I called the night before to find out about a guest pass. Guy named Jose tells me to fill out a form online and get a free 3 day pass. He asked if I was local and I said "no, I'm from Fresno". He said I could use the 3 day pass the next day. I did so and was emailed the pass and went in and the small dark haired girl with glasses said I could not use the pass because it was for locals. So I had to pay a one day $25 dollar fee. I told the girl what Jose had said and she just said "yeah sorry". I got s feeling this is common practice at 24 Hour Fitness.
