Central YMCA

I am living in Wilmington for a short period for work related reasons. The front desk associates were helpful and understanding of my situation. They offered a plan that worked perfectly for me and allowed me to take a tour before registering. This establishment has provided some of the best customer service I have ever experienced at a gym.

Staff seem friendly, parking is good and there’s a decent amount of equipment. 2 stars taken off because it was boiling hot on all levels. I was wondering why nobody was using the indoor track, it was hottest up there.

I apply for the room here at ymca I submit all the proof necessary and they dint get me approved when my background check came clean she is more concern about y I’m useing Zelle I told her it’s for my personal use but she Dara hunter leasing manager hang up my call and she refused to give my bank proof id social security number it’s against the law not to give back personal information I hope someone can help me in this

I was turned down at the Service desk because I’ve been on an Assignment and worked out at other YMCA’s. For the 12 days of Fitmas the nasty attitude a Service desk member displayed today cause me to Tare my yearly donation check in half. Central has always been a last minute resort the front desk staff are horrible.

Parking is not ideal in the winter as the lot is on the opposite side of the front door. However the building is nice and clean. Everyone working out minds their business (which is great for a socially awkward introvert like myself). Staff is very friendly, very welcoming. They answered all my questions and then some. Gave me a tour and explained the different classes. Got a bunch of information and several laughs. 9/10 would recommend.

So happy I decided to join the Y. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Women's locker room is awesome. Love the steam shower and sauna. Great equipment and such a variety of activities. It has everything and way more than I expect from gym.

Staff is super friendly here. Pool, basketball, punching bags, free-weights, rowing machines, squat/deadlift platforms, sauna & steamroom, bike locks, showers. What else do you need? However there is literally "live laugh love" in the bathroom so that's hilarious. Everyday when I walk in I like to play the game of "is there 12 staff members mobbed at the front desk waiting to all say hello or is it just 1 guy with two phones to both ears with a line of people waiting for help" since its never a happy medium.

I love going to the gym. It's a family thing for my household. It helped during the pandemic to keep active. Very impressed with staff and services.

I come here every morning at ~ 6am to workout. The gym is excellent and they're currently renovating the showers, which is great. Only issue might be is that the parking lot is kind of small so you may not find free parking depending on what time you drive here.

Great place and programs, the locker are clean also and staff are great
