Recently rejoined with the goal of getting in better shape. I started with a personal trainer, Tina, who has completely changed my view of working out and what my body is capable of doing. She is positive, encouraging, energetic, compassionate and there is zero shame in her approach. She is everything a trainer should be. She has kept me motivated to show up even when I’m not meeting with her.

I see that my post, as well as all the other negative posts are not answered or responded to, they only respond to the positive ones. I know of at least three other people who either had a membership or were refused one. This location has discriminated against them for a medical disability, for being homeless and several other issues. Not only that, but they are MUCH more expensive than the other ymca's in Delaware, as well as the ones in MD and PA!!!! And don't have a hot tub whereas several of the other MUCH cheaper ones do. Very sad that Western YMCA gets away with all this.

Great place. I have been a member here for five years. Every time when I come, I feel at home. That's awesome. And I can use the Membership even in other states. So grateful.

I enjoy this location. The one thing I do hate is the amount of high school boys taking up the weight portion of the gym. Beware if you come at the times of 3-6:30pm on week days because it is flooded with teenagers who spend most of their time on their phones or horsing around with each other. They also leave their belongings everywhere and don’t put their equipment away. It really does kind of ruin the experience.

I came in for a tour on the facility and I was greeted by a nice lady at the front desk. As I was inquiring about summer camp, I was introduced to Mr. Dave. His energy and personality was AMAZING and because of him I was completely SOLD. He showed me around and I can’t wait to pass by him when we’re utilizing the facility. My family and I are joining the Western YMCA! Thanks Mr. Dave!

Very bad experience here. Signed my grandson up for swimming lessons. Was told over the phone a date and time we were supposed to start swimming lessonsGave them my credit card to pay for the lessonsWe arrived on the date and time we were quoted. Go to front desk, they give us directions to pool classes. We get downstairs at the pool room. (After changing my grandsons clothes into his swimsuit. Get to the door. Everything is locked up. Asked a very informative older Gentlemen who worked there about classes. He informed us they never have swimming lessons on a Saturday!!!! Why doesn't the employee that charged my credit know that??? She had no problem taking my money. But was not aware there were no lessons on a Saturday?? When she was the one who gave me time and date. They did return my money. Grandson extremely disappointed 😞 That to me is heartbreaking 💔. Disappointing a 2 year old. He was so excited to go swimming, then we get there and they tell us they don't have classes. Extremely disappointing and unprofessional!!!

The manager sent me and my money out the door. It was strange…I’m not gonna say it, but it was kinda weird. I went here as a a kid but now it feels like I’m not welcome.
