Team Chip Martial Arts Centers

If you are looking for a world class place to practice Martial Arts, look no further than Team Chip. How lucky are we that this excellent school is in Abilene, Texas. The instructors are amazing at their craft and teach it well, but have the additional spark of being engaging and warm as well. In addition, the Team Chip team puts a ton of effort into creating community and engaging their students with a variety of opportunities. Because of this it never feels monotonous. It took me years to finally sign up because I didn’t feel like I could rationalize the price. Now, it’s one of the first things into our monthly budget. We are proud to be Team Chip!

I am a 1st degree red belt with purple tip and i love it i love how they do moms on the mat and dads on the mat and bring a buddy day and they always hand out stuff that say funny things on it, like the the lip balm from moms on the mat it said you da balm! I started the adult BJJ class in September and have seen a complete change in myself not only physically but also in my self-confidence. Team Chip is easily the most welcoming and encouraging environment where everyone helps push you to do your best. If you’ve ever wanted to step on the mat but have been too intimidated, Team Chip is the place to start!

Highest possible recommendation! My two elementary-aged children (one in Little Dragons, one in Beginner Kids) have absolutely loved their experience at Team Chip over the last year. Their confidence in themselves has grown! So have their self-discipline, coordination, and flexibility. This has been especially good for our child who has ADHD and sensory sensitivities. The instructors are incredibly skilled and kind. We also love the whole ethos of the Team Chip community. It is well worth the cost!

Favorite part of my day is on the mat at Team Chip!

I’ve been in the adult BJJ class for almost a year. They made me feel welcome from the moment I stepped foot in the door. All of the instructors are very patient but also push you toward your potential. This isn’t just a class that I attend. This is a community and a family that I’m apart of❤️

If anyone is looking for an extra curricular for their kiddo (or yourself!), I cannot reccommend Team Chip enough!! It is an excellent community with fantastic values.The class instructors are engaged and attentive, giving each student on the mat the level of attention needed.The cirrculum and activities are intentional and thoughtful. My son is active every second of class, whether that's physically or mentally; there is no down-time! As a parent, that is incredibly valuable knowing Team Chip is investing in my son just as much as we're investing in them with our time spent.

My son is 4. He is Deaf with cochlear implants and has a g-tube, so a lot to be physically careful with. I was really skeptical bringing him to a martial arts class. Team CHIP has been nothing but accommodating and supportive throughout the entire process. They are mindful of my son’s drawbacks and adjust their methods for him as necessary. The staff has made him feel welcome and they are so understanding.They are also not intimidated by tantruming little ones who are new to class. And they will constantly reassure the parents that it is ok if their child takes time to get into the groove of things. I have seen parents of kids with other special needs talk about the growth of their child since starting at Team CHIP. They have high but realistic expectations of young ones. So many times, they will carry a child during class or allow the child space, constantly trying to include them and make them feel safe during the transition into routine. They are angels! And so patient with all of the young ones. I can’t sing enough high praises for Team CHIP. They have earned our loyalty.

We have had the kids coming to Team Chip for 9 months one is a Little Dragon the other in Parkour! The results are remarkable! We have seen an increase in confidence and physical fitness! The instructors are incredible, the way they work with every student is unreal! Great family atmosphere! Recommend giving it a try!!
