One of the best experiences of my life! If you want to seriously train in flexibility and elegant but powerful martial arts forms (especially leg technique), look no further! The minimum instructor level is 3rd-4th degree black belt, and there are many, many 1st and 2nd degree black belts that have been training here for years and can help you learn, in addition to a large number of new students of all ages and body types. Team Chip will absolutely help you to reach your maximum potential, not only in self-defense, but in discipline and confidence, no matter where you are in life. However, if you are only wanting to beat people up, you might look somewhere else instead. Safety, mutual respect and kindness are priorities here.

This is our other family. We love Team Chip, and all that our son learns here. Not only does he (and my husband) receive world class instruction, everyone there reinforces and supports what we try to instill in him at home - honesty, perseverance, hard work, etc.

Didnt realize It had been 4 years since I wrote this. I remain steadfast in the opinion stated below.I study TKD at Team Chip and am continually impressed at the quality of the instruction and the instructors. There is a constant state of positive reinforcement and support at TC. The teachings of respect and proper use of ones skills are heavily emphasized in word and action from the smallest and youngest to the older students like me. The instructors are not only skilled in the art of TKD but are quality people outside of the school and great contributors to our community.I am proud to be a part of the Team Chip Family.

Team Chip is more of my family's identity than just about anything else. What was originally a casual activity for our oldest son when he was just four years old, has become who and what we are. I would of never dreamed that waking in the door at 2218 S. 14th street 14 years ago, would be one off the best decisions I've ever made.My children have developed into amazing young adults and my wife and I have found a calling in our own Team Chip Alamo City business. The possibilities are there for you too!

Great people, great instructors. From the time I went til my son did it was always about learning to better yourself and the ones around you with manners and self control. I would recommend Chip and the team to anyone from kids to adults.

We have been with Team Chip since March 2016. My son, daughter, husband and myself are on the mat. They teach more than tae kwon do. My children are learning discipline, dedication, leadership, how to have confidence, respect, integrity...and they encourage them in their school work. We are so thankful to be a part of the Team Chip family.

I’ve been training with Team Chip Tae Kwon Do for almost 10 years now (Since June 2003) and there is no doubt my association with Team Chip Tae Kwon Do has completely enriched my life well beyond what can ever be described in a Google Review. I walked thru their door with no prior knowledge of TKD and was welcomed into an environment that inspires one to cultivate the talents they have within regardless of physical limitations. I’ve been blessed with all I’ve learned from Masters Chip & Glyn Ann Townsend (and all the other instructors/students) and I’m honored to consider them my 2nd family. I am the Founder and President of KICKPICS LLC - Professional Martial Arts Photography and we travel the world doing photo shoots at martial arts schools. At every photo shoot, there is always one or two students that stand out for whatever reason, whether it be how awesome their technique was or how respectful, courteous or just plain "memorable" they were. Team Chip TKD was LOADED with these stand-outs! So much talent at the school at all ages and ranks, such a friendly environment and, most important, EXCELLENT leadership. Mr. and Mrs. Townsend are crazy talented martial artist and care and appreciate each and every student that trains with them. I haven't trained in martial arts in over 20 years, but if I lived closer, I would actually start training again. We HIGHLY recommend this school.

Team Chip TKD has been the best experience for my family. They are caring, respectful, professional, world-known, and love my boys like they are their own children. They have taught them self-confidence, self-esteem, courage, courtesy, respect for others, manners, as well as control of their own bodies. All through a form of martial arts. We now have two very different boys from the first day we walked through the doors. I am very proud of the men they are becoming because of Team Chip and the morals and values of Mr. Chip and Mrs. GlynAnn, as well as, all of the instructors there. I HIGHLY recommend this program for anyone!

My nephews started with Team Chip before I even had kids, but I knew when I did have kids I wanted them at Team Chip. The instructors at Team Chip are great at teaching respect, courtesy, perseverance, self control, and how to be intrinsically motivated. They motivate with positive attention and with setting a great example. The instructors are respectful to the kids and get their points across, teaching techniques and correcting behavior without humiliating or demeaning the kids. My son truly looks up to his teachers and is excited to go nearly everyday. I can't wait until my two-year-old and baby are old enough to start.
