Huge facility, great variety of bouldering, toprope, and sport climbing routes. I took my mom here for her first time climbing and she absolutely loved it though she started out scared to death. The employees were incredibly reassuring and very patient, addressing all her questions about safety and the basics. Only complaint is that the walls themselves have a rough, sandpaper-like texture (which admittedly makes smearing a bit easier), but can scrape you up a bit.

This is a great gym. High walls, well lit and clean. It has a large bouldering section and plenty of routes. They have a great lead cave, plenty of chimneys, and slab climbs. They tend to put a good variety of grades in each section. They set fun routes with lots of good moves. The Boulder problems tend to be a grade or two above their grade. The routes seem rated similarly to the outdoor ratings in the area. They have a good store up front (one of the best in ABQ) for gear. They also have a solid kids section with a top out Boulder surrounded by a good number of autobelays.

I’ve been here 2x now, my boyfriend and I came here and with entrance plus gear and shoes we ended up paying around $50. I would sign up for their emails because they send out deals once in a while. I honestly had a lot of fun here, it’s a great arm and grip workout. We aren’t really pros so we just stayed in the smaller room, nice for a date 👍🏼 the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is that it a bit over priced just to climb some walls, my college just charges 1$ granted they only have 3 walls.

Great location to climb. Lots of "baby" walls to start off on, and other climbing obstacles in a very large facility. If you're a novice and know nothing (like me) it was a bit overwhelming at first - but there were helpful staff members to get me suited up. Recommendations: come dressed to climb. It sounds stupid, but I wore cargo shorts, crappy socks and a ratty T-Shirt (again, I was a novice...); the harness bit into the shorts, and the socks didn't go well with the climbing shoes. I'm now better for the experience, but save yourself the rashes and muscle strain.

Best, largest and most comprehensive rock climbing gym in New Mexico. Anyone who loves to climb and moves to Albuquerque try this gym!Offered: bouldering, top roping, lead climbing, auto-belays, hang boards, grip boards and walls, endurance treadwall, yoga, kick boxing, a small regular gym, Wifi, rental equipment, equipment for sale, year long and day to day memberships, classes on outdoor lead and trad climbing. The route and problem setters change holds on a monthly basis. This place is awesome! My group and I climb here 2-3 times week. Twice annually informal (public) climbing competitions take place here and are a super fun way to show off what you have been working towards!I have only small complaints:a) I wish they had two additional water bottle filling stations and more protein-rich (10g+) snack items offered.b) I wish the parking and adjacent road access situation would change. This is of course going to be an effort of collaboration by StoneAge, the neighboring businesses and the City of Albuquerque but something's got to change. People park in front on fire hydrants and fire lanes, drive too fast as people cross the street and the lighting in the street is poor.

My son, boyfriend and I went into this business looking to possibly sign up for memberships and looking for a venue for our son's birthday party. He loves to rock climb so we thought this would be a great place to host a birthday party. Unfortunately, they had a ton of employees at the counter and none of them were willing to wait on us OR even acknowledge us at all. I have never been treated so badly and they just lost some really good business today. They don't even deserve this one star because the customer service was so disappointing. A "Hello" goes a LONG way people.

Disclaimer: This review is from 2014Really enjoyed every time I visited while I had a membership. They even got new gym equipment for lifting! If it had been a little closer, I would have worked out there every day.Routes are constantly rotating/changing and there's always a new puzzle to figure out. They do a great job at keeping the interior clean and swepted. Even the bathrooms are in pretty good condition. If you have kids and have thought about bringing them rock climbing, this place is great! I don't have kids but there are A LOT of them all around climbing and having fun. SA even offers classes for kids too, I believe. My only gripes - Some of the staff can be kind of iffy some times with their attitudes BUT most of them are really nice and inviting. And the rental equipment is just okay, wish they had better shoes. But those are just minor things imo.Oh, and I really wish they had a slack line somewhere, but that's just a nicety.

They honor our Second Amendment rights! (five stars already)I brought my Girl Scout troop here today. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The girls had a blast. The manager was super accommodating for our large group for which we are grateful. The equipment isn't brand new, but it's in excellent condition. There is a wide variety of courses to challenge you in whatever you need challenging. The cushions, floors, bathrooms, etc are clean. The parking is easy. I totally recommend this place for all your climbing needs. They also have a specialty store in the front if you need stuff.
