A TON of room for improvement - no hack squat, no standing calf raise, no seated military press. These are staples in every gym so I'm baffled that OneLife lacks these pieces of equipment. Four platforms but not nearly enough bumper plates to accommodate. Broken AC makes summer sessions an absolute nightmare. It's heat stroke central. Corporate office clearly doesn't care or depleted their spending budget during the pandemic. Dumbbells end at 100lbs and there is always at least two incomplete or missing pairs at all times. If you are an advanced lifter or train heavy often, this gym ain't it fam. I signed up for this facility b/c it's a few miles away from my house, but ended up having to get a second membership at Gold's Gym anyways. Management team and staff are great, especially Leland and Clayton who are professional and genuine dudes, and the overall crowd is usually pretty respectful and chill. It's just a shame that there is so much potential wasted. The facility is so large and open and yet it is always so cramped due to the boxing classes and 15 basketball courts that no one uses. Fingers crossed that the owners do better in 2022.

I’ve been going to this gym for a while now and it’s great! Has a lot of equipment and classes. I want to highlight their explosive performance group exercise. You can workout in small groups with a trainer, and one of the coaches, Yusuf, is so nice and has really helped me to become more confident in myself and in my workout plans. He’s super patient and creates workouts that are challenging but still doable.I would highly recommend him for anyone interested in working on their fitness goals and looking for more 1 on 1/ small group interaction.

I am giving 0 stars review not because of the staff. The gym staff is amazing and they are very greeted and professional. What bad about this gym is the machines the leg machines are horrible one of the worst leg machines I have came across I have waited for long time thinking they willUpgrade it to the new up to date machines but they are the same plus the chest workout machine is been broken for the past month and the management is not even taken action on it I end upGoing to a different branch on my leg and chest day “need to spend gas money to drive to another brach” another thing is they have given a huge space for basketball court which shouldn’t be it doesn’t need that much space instead I would rather prefer to have a swimming pool in it they can easily split the space between basketball and swimming pool. Last thing is the boxing classes they block the whole intersection while we can’t pass through or go up stairs while they have a boxing room to use or use one of the yoga room in the first floor while it’s empty in the evening time. I have stayed quite for a long time being a long time member but this is unacceptable anymore. 4 of my friends already left to a different gym company and I may consider it too if it stayed like that.

I’ve been to plenty of clubs in the area. La fitness, golds, Xsport, the YMCA, and I would say this definitely is my favorite out of the bunch. Within that commercial 25-50 price range this feels like the most bang for your buck. I’ve seen comments argue saying they need Xyz but it’s something you should tour and consider to see if the gym fits your needs before possibly leaving a negative review as you should determine best fit.Pros:Overall good selection of equipment. They have a fair selection of accessory handles for cables. Equipment works wellThe staff is great. Especially the leadership level of Leland and Clayton. Very friendly welcoming group, also big ups to the front staff too. Just good people all around.Safety: been fortunate as I have never had anything taken. I feel safe leaving my bag in the cubbies with some valuablesCanceling process. This was probably the biggest major, I would have stayed within onelife’s realm but I am moving to a place where there are no onelifes. It was a breeze canceling unlike some of the other hurdles you need to go through at other gyms. Easy email onlineCons/Room for ImprovementThe boxing ring is just super out of place lol. I understand there is probably way greater margin for profit with boxing but a layout change one day will help the overall flow.Cleanliness on the cardio equipment, lots of dust, easy fix.Kinda awkward using the turf space upstairs, lots of trainers using with clients. They give their clients a great experience but can be awkward with spacing if I wanna do a Sled push as that requires plenty of spaceNail in or lock in the compound racks. This does irk me as some of the benches and squat racks tend to shift when people through heavy weight. Tough to rack plates on the squat rack as it’s so against the wall from the force. Bench can also be slightly crooked throwing off your alignment.Great experience and would recommend. The cons I have are very easy to fix. More just room for improvement

This location is awesome! Staff is welcoming and the expansion is great. They have expanded their club and have new equipment on the way. The gym feels a lot bigger than it used to be. There is still room to move around during prime hours and you don’t feel like you’re crowded/in everyone’s way.

I got my account indefinitely suspended during Covid two years ago (have email proof that account will only be reactivated upon my approval). Now without notice they reactivated my account and let me know that they need 30 days notice to cancel. So now they want to charge me two months of membership before I can cancel. After two years you would expect a good business to reach out and double check with customer if they want to reactivate account. This is clearly a fraudulent credit card charge and is not acceptable. I would recommend anyone to stay away from this gym.Answer to response from owner: I already reached out to this number and they said they would look in to it. Also they mentioned that it is the responsibility of the members to stay in touch with gym which is ridiculous.Just look at all the 1 star reviews they got regarding fraudulent charges. They should not be able to operate a business like this.

*PLEASE READ*This is an amazing gym with an even better staff! I'm a former college athlete and this gym has everything you need and is literally one of the best gyms I've been to if not the best. It has everything for functional training, bodybuilding, athletic training, weekend warriors, or new gym goers. They're still reconfiguring some things but the gym is fully operational and you can get a great workout. The staff is extremely accomodating and and caring. I wish I lived in the area so I could go here full time and take my workouts to the next level. I'll be back the next time I'm out this way.

The 5 STARS goes to Clayton. for the best customer service. He is very professional and friendly manner.1- Clayton, Took me on a tour.2- Gave me a free day pass, so I can feel the place before signing in.3- Clayton, asked me for my opinion about the place on my way out.4- Clayton noticed that I was not sure if I want to join the gym, due to the fact that I am new to the area and I have not found my own place yet.5- Clayton allowed me to purchase two weeks of access to the gym.Thank you, Clayton, for the flexibility that you showed. This allows me to feel very comfortable looking for a place to settle and continuing to be healthy, despite all the stress of moving into a new town.I highly recommend speaking to Clayton, if you are not sure about joining the Onelife Fitness at Alexandria, I promise you, that he will take care of you!The gym was very clean, and the people were friendly

The best gym ever!!!! I could spend all day here. I love coming in the am and looking at the sunrise while I'm working out (they have huge glass windows). The machines are always in good shape + clean. The staff are phenomenal, and I'm SO EXCITED with the expansion of the gym. The only thing I wish they had is a hack squat machine. Fingers crossed :)

I joined this gym after leaving another that went downhill in the area. When I joined, they were just reopening after the pandemic and it was very clean. I enjoyed this gym for a long time, but it’s just been so dirty as of the past few months. I’m attaching photos of machines I’ve taken over time. The clumps of dirt and dust show that no one is routinely cleaning and sanitizing this equipment. The other OneLife locations I go to (shout out to Rockville) are very clean with a staff member who carries and cleans with a portable vacuum cleaner and they wipe each machine by hand. I see them nearly everyday regardless of what time I go in.Not at the Alexandria location. In nearly two years of being a member I don’t think I ever saw any staff cleaning the gym floor and equipment. Sauna floors go for weeks with the same dirt and debris and messages written on the glass door. This is not a healthy environment in terms of cleanliness and could pose a health risk to those allergic to dust or have asthma.I will say that the staff in general is friendly, but I do think they need to invest in some staff who are solely hired to clean. Many members also don’t wipe off their machines, compounding the cleanliness issue.Cord and cable management is also an issue, as people are always tripping on these lose cords (photo).I hope it improves. 2 stars because the staff is nice to me when I come in (a few even remember your name), and because the gym is close to home.PS- they close at 6pm on the weekend, which I thought was just a covid measure, but it looks like most of their clubs have this as their standard hours. This is hard to digest if you’re used to extended or 24 hour options.Edit- the gym is still dirty after “bringing it to their attention”. Adding photos of this disgusting locker room. You all need to FIX THIS ASAP. It is a health hazard.
