Seems to be closed to new members. Tried to join during their operating hours and no one is working the front desk. Called the number on the door and no one picked up the phone.

I have been to Southside a few times to both train and step on a platform for USPA Powerlifting. I can not explain the amazing staff, members, and equipment are that they have at Southside. The owner Matt is always listening to his members and improving with expanding gym size and adding new and specialized equipment. I highly encourage anyone in the Anchorage area to stop in and check it out. No experience needed from beginning your fitness journey to powerlifting, bodybuilding, and strongman Southside Strength and Fitness has it all including some of the best atmosphere in Anchorage. So please stop by and check them out otherwise you will regret it.

Been coming here for a few years and am very impressed with the upgrades to the equipment and to the gym. This is hands down the best powerlifting gym in anchorage, also a great place for body builders and Olympic lifters! Such a amazing improvement plus its 24/7 with your key card membership!!! + posing room and sauna!

I’ve been to every gym in town and this has become my favorite. It’s 24 hours so I can go anytime and there’s punch cards so buddies can come lift with me anytime even if they go to another gym. The equipment that is being put in the gym is overbuilt and super sturdy Assault Equipment and is honestly motivating to use because it’s so solid. There’s plenty of space to lift and I never feel like you have to wait. Very happy with this gym.

Outstanding customer service! I came in Saturday morning before office hours and my key fob wasn't working. Sent a message to Matthew Lindsay; one of the owners, via his social media and got a response right away.He happened to be near the gym, came in less than 5 min later and fixed the issue.Great place to workout, even greater people running it!

Laid back atmosphere. They have a lot of well maintained equipment. I picked up a two week pass while in town. Great price and place. If you are old-school this is the place to go.

Whenever I am in Anchorage this is where I go to workout. This place is a gem for bodybuilding and if I move out to Alaska I’ll definitely be close and wanting to training my clients here!
