Great gym in north Austin for all levels. I met Tyson and Sean when I was volunteering at a homeless shelter downtown. When I heard that they were offering their spare bedrooms to at-risk youth, I knew I had to meet them. After a lengthy discussion about the political and economic state of the world Tyson and Sean invited me to a boxing class free of charge. It was in that class that I fell in love with not only boxing, but the community of the Archetype gym. Since I started training at archetype I’ve become a 3-0 amateur boxer and hopefully a professional in the near future. Not only have the coaches at Archetype turned me into a promising young professional prospect, but they have made me into a hard-working young man ready to take on the world.

Best boxing gym I have ever been to. The coaches are incredibly nice and very precise in their classes and the way they teach you. Best decision and investment I've made when it comes to workouts and learning a new craft. Definitely recommend.

100 classes in. From thinking you know how to punch, to training your way up to sparring for the first time. This is the place you want to be. Invigorating combination of mental and physical exercise. I am convinced this is the best gym in Austin. Big thanks to Sean and my good friend Coach Tyson. These guys are the real deal, only limiting factor is you. Just don’t make fun of their fanny packs and they will take care of the rest. Top Notch boxing minus McConaughey!

Joining Archetype Boxing 🥊 Club is, by far, the best decision I have made in recent memory. Having always been intrigued by boxing, I figured, “why not try knocking a bag around?”, but really didn’t expect much more than a solid physical workout. Wow, I was taken by surprise! The program run at Archetype is both physically, and mentally, challenging. The physical workout is fantastic and the mentally challenging aspect forces me to forget everything else except what I am doing at that moment in the gym — as an entrepreneur and engineer it forces me to use my brain in a totally different manner, which is rad, and provides a mental escape from the racing world around us.Yet, this brain/body fitness isn’t the best part of Archetype. The trainers are absolutely incredible humans! The care and attention they provide while administering technically demanding instruction is amazing. They are approachable by anyone and everyone no matter skill, size, gender, etc. They greet people by their names from day one and have built a safe and comfortable atmosphere. Plus, they clearly spend time thoughtfully coordinating particular technical aspects of the sport for each week of sessions. No one session has been the same!

In short, I love this place. I came in very nervous with zero experience, and now I can’t get enough. Boxing has no doubt become one of the best parts of my day. The coaches are attentive, intentional, and all around badass. They motivate you to push yourself and to celebrate every victory, making them great teachers. The community is welcoming, friendly, and all oriented toward growth at every level. Big fan of this place, and can’t recommend it enough.

This is the best boxing gym I’ve been to in Austin. I’ve tried like 8 and now drive way across town to get to this one because the quality of instruction is so good compared to the others. The others would just treat it like a fitness class and not teach technique or give feedback on how to improve form. Don’t bother trying the others. The instructors here are very friendly and approachable.

Best boxing gym in Austin, hands down! The gym has a friendly and casual atmosphere, so if your looking to learn a new skill or work on your cardio because running is not for you (like me) then look no further! The coaches (Sean and Tyson) are incredibly knowledgeable and overall great motivators! I’ve been going for over 6 months now and haven’t met a single member that wasn’t friendly or easy to talk to!

I'm very impressed with Archetype Boxing Club! I had my first class last Friday and I took my oldest son with me. First time boxing for both of us. Was not sure what to expect, but these guys are on to something. They immediately welcomed us in and got us started. They explained the workout and started teaching us the fundamentals within minutes. Such a welcoming place, with friendly people who really know their craft, and the place has such a great vibe about it. Three coaches there the whole time and all 3 worked with us on different skills, which made the time fly by. My son and I both loved the workout and can't wait to get back there this Friday. Archetype Boxing Club has figured out the recipe for success and I'm sold!

Coaches were great, very friendly. It’s clear that they care for each person that walks through that door. My first time and I was greeted with smiles! From what I could tell, they care more about technique and foundational skills, which is the biggest bang for your buck. So it isn’t a “punch aimlessly at a bag without knowing what you’re doing til class is over”. You learn and push yourself and make every minute count. And they try to take every moment as a teaching opportunity. So if they see you doing something that could be better, they won’t hesitate to suggest how to improve it. Overall, they are great to work with and gives great criticism while also remaining positive. The system they have in place is very good, keeps you going. The environment is great! The place was squeaky clean!! Equipment looked clean and well maintained as well. Great gym all together.

I had a great experience at Archetype trying boxing for the first time. The instructors were attentive, encouraging and kind. It was a great workout and the facilities were great too. I appreciate the touches they added to the experience to make it more inclusive. Highly recommend!
