I have been at Crossfit SoChac for almost six years and I love it even more than when I started. I have grown as an athlete and have gotten stronger. The coaches are amazing and the people are very friendly and very supportive. I am always encouraged at every class.

Before this place I only workout at home. I’m 100% introvert so it’s very outside my comfort zone to engage and workout with others. However, this place is changing that. The coaches are amazing, and the community is so wonderful. I look forward to being in the gym all. The. Time now because it’s just fun. If you are looking to start a journey to fitness and need a welcoming atmosphere (which I know you do) this is the place.

I have been a member for a couple months now and from the start everyone-owner, coaches, and athletes have all been super friendly! Everyone is so welcoming. The coaches do an outstanding job in making sure everyone has proper form. They are really great with having options in the day to day workouts so if you need to scale the workout, then you can. I really appreciate the coaches taking extra time after classes to answer any questions that I have or even help me with a movement that I am struggling with.

Great gym! The coaches work with each athlete's fitness level, and they push the class to work hard and improve. At CrossFit SoChac I have made gains that I wouldn't have made anywhere else. The programming, coaches, and community have exceeded my expectations. I am proud to be a member.

Awesome gym and community. The coaches are supportive and knowledgable. I appreciate the structure of classes and direct teaching of technique and concern for general safety. Classes will push you no matter how in or out of shape you are!

When I became a gym nomad a few months ago I was skeptical that I would be able to find a gym community I liked as much as my previous one. I was wrong. CrossFit SoChac is top notch. The coaching is fantastic, and I get constant pointers and feedback on form and technique. The coaches are great about pushing for more out of you, but always in a safe manner. They’re also excellent at making sure class is moving and getting us out on time, something I greatly appreciate. There’s tons of class times that should work for your schedule (I’m particularly partial to the 8:15).The community is excellent, with all of the members being friendly, supportive and welcoming. Whether you’re the first one finishing a workout or the last, everyone is here for you. I’m very happy with my new gym home.

If you want careful/detailed attention to understanding and enjoying the mechanics and benefits of Crossfit to not just your body but overall well being... GO TO CROSSFIT SOCHAC!!The value the coaches put into fundamentals and understanding your body is far above and beyond when comparing them to other boxes. It's easy to show up, do "some" work, and maybe see some improvement in whatever goals one has established when wanting to join a Crossfit gym. Well I can certainly tell you that Crossfit SoChac wants to do more than just see a body in their box, they want to grow alongside you and help you meet or exceed your goals.Beyond blessed to have come across a business/box that values not only what they put out as a product, but also value they invest in growing their family (clients) with amazing staff, equipment, and above everything else, a welcoming, judge-free, positive environment. Thanks SoChac!

Former “Crossfit is probably stupid” reviewer here. After 12+ years as a member of LifeTime Fitness, I decided to change it up and found SoChac mostly due to the proximity of where I live. My prior experience with Crossfit (10+ years ago) consisted of friends bringing me to a couple of classes which helped shape my previously negative view of CrossFit because they had me lifting heavy weight on unfamiliar movements without much technique coaching. My experience at SoChac has been much different and maybe even enjoyable depending on when you ask me because some of these workouts can be challenging.I say “can be challenging” because SoChac offers a lot of options to scale your workout up/down depending on your level of fitness or how you’re feeling. My wife likes to go to Yoga and occasionally I’ll crash a class with her. A couple of my favorite things about Yoga are the number of options they give you to build up to a specific hold/pose and nobody is judging how you look (or at least I hope they aren’t). This has also been my experience at SoChac where there are a lot of movements I can’t physically do or don’t have the coordination to do but the coaches do a good job of helping you build up to where you feel comfortable and will also help you push further if that’s what you want. The coaches also aren’t focused on how much weight you use – they have a prescribed weight for the workout but often the coaches will instruct me to scale down my weight/movement b/c of fatigue or b/c I’m losing technique. I believe this type of attitude fosters a judge free environment because it openly acknowledges we are all at a different place in our fitness and that’s ok. That being said… There are definitely some people who are really good at what they do and want to be competitive but for some of us, it’s about getting a good workout in and pushing ourselves harder than we would otherwise. The classes are smaller (13 max) and if you go to the same class every day, you’re going to see the same faces and get to know everyone little by little. This is different than Lifetime where I put on headphones and hoped nobody talked to me but as I have gone through class, I have actually enjoyed the comradery/banter that takes place. Something about experiencing some of these workouts together brings you closer b/c you all survived, I guess.Again, I have really enjoyed my experience at SoChac. Originally, I committed myself to 3 classes a week but I have liked it so much, I go more and sometimes get FOMO when I miss a class (unless I skip the class on purpose because I peeked at the workout ahead of time). The coaches/athletes here are encouraging, likeminded, fun and it's a nice little subculture to be a part of in South Austin. If you’re new to Crossfit, like I was, or a seasoned veteran, I would recommend.

Wow! CrossFit SoChac has honestly changed our lives. We have always been active in fitness but were looking for a change. CrossFit SoChac brought us in with open arms and elevated our lives both physically and mentally. All of the coaches are truly amazing and made us feel like family right away. We are totally obsessed and look forward to our workouts every single day. The level of technical coaching is absolutely paramount. At this point, I can't imagine things without CrossFit SoChac. Thank y'all so much for everything you guys do. This is by far the best gym we have ever been a part of! SoChac on three!!
