Clean location, plenty of space, but some machines are frequently out of order. Friendly staff but ineffective at fixing issues around the gym. Must need outside maintenance to fix items.

My recent experience with Gold’s Gym on West William Cannon in the last year has been excellent. The equipment works well, the gym is clean, and the staff is helpful, professional and friendly. Jason, and I met for a one time free training session. He was knowledgeable, professional, personable and kind. If I decide on training, I will definitely work with him. Thank you Jason!RRR

Good gym and seemingly caters to every fitness choice. Only major complaint is the sauna. Great little sauna but the majority of people in there don't follow any sort of sauna etiquette. Most are on their phones, some have earbuds playing music so loud that anyone not wearing them can hear it, some are breathing heavy like they're about to have a heart attack, one dude in particular likes to laugh out loud at videos on his phone, another is an aspiring drummer who likes to drum on the bench, some wear socks or go barefoot and I can only assume they didn't shower first and it generally smells really bad in there. No one sits on a towel so they're essentially sitting where there were former pools of sweat. I try to convince myself that it is cleaned by the staff often. In my opinion, saunas are a place for relaxation and to reap the health benefits. Having been to Finland a few times and experienced their sauna culture, the Finnish would no doubt be mortified by ours.

Super friendly staff. Reggie on early mornings is the best! The main cleaning lady is always so nice and keeps the place so clean.

This manager at this location is rude and is not an understanding person. It was perfectly fine when I wanted to try out the gym for a day with a different employee that helped me out, I signed up immediately because of the hospitality of that employee. But my brother decided to try the gym out when the GM was working, he was rude and stubborn with his answers and would not let him try the gym out because he did not have a Texas ID and couldn’t show proof of residency but how is he suppose to show proof when he doesn’t own the house and is living with parents. We clearly are residence in Austin but he wouldn’t allow if we didn’t have proof of residency. I said repeatedly that we live here but he kept saying we are visitors. It’s a day pass, I don’t know why he would be so stingy about it. The manager is so desperate to get a single sign up, he did not think what could cost him on the long run. That’s not how you treat customers and how you lose customers. Let the other employees manage, they treat customers better!

This is a great golds gym location because it offers a very large area for all your workout essentials: free weights, machines and a second floor for all your cardio needs. This is located in a mini shopping area which includes plenty of parking spots. When Im on this side of town this is my go to gym.
