Changing rooms are excellent. Restrooms clean. Parking is good, and safe. I like the cinema room. Lots of free weights. Machines are good, selection good. Found a few broken features upstairs on cardio machines near rowers. Staff great. I would prefer a towel service. This is a great gym. I am very comfortable here. Not my normal gym location, but I visit and like it.

Parking is good, always plenty in the back. Overall pretty clean and everything in good condition. Staff are friendly and always say hello and goodbye. I’ve been to lots of gyms and I like this one the best.

Definitely a more traditional gym... Not much functional fitness, limited mobility equipment, and what bodyweight stuff they have is scattered. I had to walk around for 10 minutes just locating all my equipment I was going to use for a full body workout. On the plus side, they have like 7 stair machines, where most clubs have 1 or 2.

Reggie is great, my sister and myself go to the gym together M-F right before 5Am and he always greets us, talks with us about workouts that are helpful for what we need and has even helped with which machines will give an optimal workout. He is always nice and helpful. The one trainer I worked with was great as well. David House! He really got into what workouts best suited me for what I was looking for my life and had great conversation. Some downsides was Brent the manager, I understand his job is to sell, but when someone says no 3× the answer is no. The equipment can be upgraded ... Especially in the womans part of the gym. But, really the are few complaints. I enjoy going to the gym.

Two cleaning spray bottles are empty while 7 employees stand behind the counter. I don’t pay them $40 every month to MAYBE have full spray bottles. Also, HALF of the treadmills are either broken, make extremely loud and obnoxious whining noises, or the belt catches when you start running. Everything else is decent. Other Gold’s locations are great and it’s still my preferred gym over other competitors but this one is deficient in the machines I use most often.Gold’s keeps opening new locations in Dripping Springs and Round Rock while this location receives zero much needed attention, so I know they aren’t about to file bankruptcy or anything. Management must be drunk all day. The hunks behind the counter don’t seem to care either.. Dare I ask if there is a suggestion box?

Really on the fence about quitting Gold's to pursue another option. I became a member a few years ago, liked it at the time, worked very hard with a personal trainer for several months, but then became ill and determined with my doctor that I needed an extensive break. I let my trainer know, and I fully recognize it has been a long time after a couple of years of non use, but I've continued paying my membership anyway thinking I was preserving my status, and I didn't realize that my trainer credits would no longer be honored after a certain amount of time, which I just found out last month when visiting again. Huge amount of money down the drain. I have pretty much zero incentive to stick with this gym. The staff has also changed in two years so my original signer is gone as well as my trainer, and no one else was willing to work with me on my credits issue, and by the way it smells just awful right outside the building (I noticed when I returned this morning for a quick mile run). So, yeah, it's not really working out for me here.

So I've been a Gold's member for a lot of years. This isn't usually the location I use, but for whatever reason this is the number that shows on my credit card statement. That's what brings me here today. A random collection of charges to my credit card - not my membership fee - on a date when I wasn't even in Austin. Yes, that card is on file for billing purposes. I never buy anything at the gym yet these charges are described as "in person purchase". I can't even get anyone at this number to ANSWER THE PHONE. All charges have been disputed with the credit card company. I had to report the card as stolen and now I have to wait 5 days for a new card.EDIT - Two months later with no response from Gold's, but a letter informing me that I owe them money. They never sent me a bill in the mail. Never said "We admit that we compromised your credit card, would you like to trust us with another one?"

The gym is spacious clean and surprisingly quiet besides the thumps of barbells hitting mat. Taylor made it easy to sign up for membership and was quite personable. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is because it would be better if they had a water area here with 24hr fitness right across the street having a megagym with pool jacuzzi steam room etc...The only golds location in south austin with water area is bee caves @ westlake. And that's not really south. But this is a nice clean location with a good vibe to get your lift or cardio on.

This is the worst Gym I have ever been to. I joined this Gym when it was called World's Gym in 1992. My wife and I recently switched to Life Time because the cardio equipment is old and not maintained. The elliptical machines shake, clank, and jerk. Moreover, some of the controls on many of the elliptical machines do not work. My wife injured her hip running on the treadmills because they are so poorly maintained. The treadmills are unlevel, shake, and some were stuck in an incline or decline. One time, my wife was running on one of the treadmills and a corner fell to the floor. Before we quit, my wife and I worked out early in the morning, and many times, there was no toilet paper or soap in the bathrooms. Moreover, the bathrooms were always filthy. The spin room has really bad ventilation so I tried to leave the door open during the class, but the spin instructor, Kathy, insisted that it remain almost completely closed even though one or more of the attendees often wore heavy perfume/cologne, which made it difficult to breath especially when you are gasping for air during the class. Kathy, the spin instructor, made comments about how the loud music during the spin class had damaged her hearing, but when I asked her to turn it down, she refused. On at least two occasions, when the Gym was supposed to open at 5 am after a holiday, we arrived at 5 am along with about 20 members, and no one showed to open the Gym until about 5:45 am or 6 am. On one of these occasions, the spin class was canceled so my wife walked in the spin room to spin by herself and Kathy made her leave and would not let her workout in the spin room by herself because she said it was a liability issue, which makes no sense in light of the fact that members workout by themselves all the time in the cardio cinema room. I complained to management many times to no avail. I am so glad we switched Gyms. I just wished I would not have waited so long.

Be very careful when you sign up and especially when you add a family member to your existing plan. Charged us for the enhanced plan without even knowing. I purchased the basic plan added my wife so they upgraded without our knowledge. Should have listened to the previous reviews. This should be fun when we cancel our membership.
