Stone Gardens Bellevue is a great environment for beginning climbing. I've been to multiple gyms in California, Arizona, and even a few in Japan. Many gyms have some sort of elitist chip on their shoulder. Not Stone Gardens Bellevue. You can come in off the street and find a selection of routes that any individual of moderate fitness can climb. I would even go so far to say that most of the beginner routs at Stone Gardens Bellevue seem to be intentionally outlining some basic fundamentals of body mechanics and have an intuitive route flow. While most routes are reset on a rotating schedule, I am so impressed by the current entry level routes (V0) that I would actually encourage the setters to leave them right where they are forever. I would love to introduce my guests to the quality I have observed in the current routes. Anyone that returns a second or third time will find plenty of accessible variety in the next difficulty (V1, V2, etc.).Five stars? Yes. ....but no one is perfect right? 1) Some gyms have policies that request that individuals remove their climbing shoes before entering the bathroom since the climbing shoes will contact surfaces in the gym that hands also contact. While I do find the rule to be a big pain, I have come to appreciate seeing gyms thinking about that sort of thing. 2) While members are given a generous ability to offer access to first time climbers, I feel that prices for guest off the street will prohibit many individuals who have never climbed from ever exploring the sport at Stone Gardens Bellevue. It's rare that a gym sets beginner routes that are as friendly and educational as this location; I think it would be a tragedy if people couldn't get their first taste of this sport in this environment because of finances. 3) The fitness facility next door offers tanning access for $10 a month more than their base membership. Could it ever be mutuality benefitial to both Stone Gardens Bellevue and their members to provide a booth at a similar additional cost for access. (Help me fight off the SADs. 😁)Cheers,Jon

I really enjoyed the energy here and the facility was nice and updated. I completed a belay class and had a 2 week membership. The class was great, and the instructor was helpful. I didn’t rate this place 5 stars because of how busy this place gets and the etiquette. This place gets crazy busy in the evenings and there is a lot of waiting time between climbs. I know busyness means everyone likes the place but it does make it difficult to get on the wall. I also did not love the etiquette of other climbers. The routes are not spaced out and overlap with other routes and people just choose to climb over top of you instead of waiting(when top roping). It would be nice for the staff to enforce safety and etiquette in the top rope area. I get that it’s busy and people want to climb, but it doesn’t make you feel safe when someone climbs over you.

Really great climbing experience! It was my first time climbing so we did the climbing 101 class which as a beginner was very worth it for me (and comes with 2 weeks of free entrance afterward which is amazing). Since then I’ve gone back for climbing and bouldering and I’ve had a great time! Casual and fun atmosphere but they obviously care a great deal about having fun safely.

Very good setup and enough spots all around. Good mix of challenges for all age groups. Parking is shared and ample. Staff is cheerful and helpful. Good startup programs as well to get started.

Great facility! Very clean and the staff is friendly. They switch up the walls regularly so you can work on new skills.

Very corporate here. They have lost the essence of what stone gardens was founded on back in the day at the Ballard location. It’s too bad to see them decline so badly.

Horrible experience. Brought several kids and since they weren’t over 14, I was required to stand there...and do absolutely nothing (which was super difficult keeping two younger children entertained). Wasn’t even allowed to bring the younger kids to the play area. I signed waivers...for what? What would I do there to “help” when I have two young kids and there is an attendant there that I was paying for? The attendant that was belaying was not engaging at all with the kids (nor with me). Don’t recommend and not returning under such circumstances.

Stone gardens is the gym to go for climbers of any skill level. Their routesetters are fantastic and the variance of routes is amazing. I always have a good time here (I go 5x/week) and would absolutely recommend it to anyone who is interested in climbing or alreast does. They have programs to teach basic skills required to climb and people there are very helpful with new climbers. Do not overlook Stone Gardens!

Has 3 big climbing spaces, the center one is high wall with safety rope. Variety of level and good for everyone from beginners to athletes.Free fitness area has weight, treadmill, etc. $5 yoga classes are available for everyone, they have Hatha, vinyasa, so I go there while I am waiting for my friends. You need to bring a locker key to lock the door in the locker room, or most of people just leave their bags and coat in the locker next to the front desk.Electric sign up and a few minutes of demonstrating video required for the first time. There are huge parking in front of the store and many stores around it.Friendly, good staff and nice people.

Great staff fun climbing, Wish they had a steeper lead wall. But lots and lots of bouldering! Good exercise area as well!
