The last time i was here, I had all my belongings stolen from a closed locker, pants + jacket + backpack + wallet. They did nothing about this.I've paid the Initiation fee + 2 months in the past.Today Alyssa would not allow me to pay for 1 month and demanded I pay a minimum of 2 months, in addition, and she would not allow me to speak to anyone higher up about this matter. This location and Alyssa only care about their commission and have done nothing to care for their customers, regardless of how atrocious their past experience has been, even after spoon feeding them commission.

Group fitness classes are saving my life big time. I bow and give gratitude to all Instructors. Be prepared to work, expect to see transformational results, and if you’re like me who was raised and exposed to the YMCA ways of building and maintaining a safe and healthy community … it’s been that place for me. I love, appreciate, and worship my body for what it does for me thanks to these classes and the wonderful Instructors that lead them. I believe there is something for all walks of life here. I found my community here, my sanctuary, my safe place. I come on my worst days and leave ready to take on the world by the neck, untouchable with might. From Front Desk Attendants, to Advisors, to Maintenance and Cleaning Crew-Members, to Instructors, to Personal Training gurus. The Berkeley location stands out, with consistency. It deserves the praise and visibility because …. I can’t wait until it’s time to get ready and head over for a class. It’s what I look forward to, as hard as it is. It encourages faith, discipline, focus. The rest is what you make of it.

Equinox Berkeley has a great personal training program. I learned more about nutrition and weight lifting. I found a form of fitness that is specifically tailored for me to meet my goals and feel healthy.

I've worked out with at least a dozen trainers over the years, but Tina stands out as top-notch! She is a true partner in helping me level-up my overall health bc of her remarkable focus, engagement and committment to my health and fitness goals. I see the results in more than my body ... she has encouraged a major shift in my mindset and approach to my daily life. I am stronger, moving with more confidence and ease in every way and more aligned with my goals than ever before. Tina is a gem of a human and a gifted trainer for anyone looking for real transformation in mind, body, and spirit! Bonus is she has awesome energy and is great fun to be around.

Called phone number to check out gym. Was considering joining despite several poor reviews. The facilities look nice.Someone answered and said "can I put you on a brief hold?"20 minutes later and still waiting.... :/I've read several reviews about poor customer service. I guess this reflects that reality.

I want to preface with that there is nothing inherently wrong with this gym BUT- upon getting my membership, I was super excited to work out here. I wanted to pay top dollar because I had assumed it'd be more of an exclusive experience. If you have social anxiety...do not go here. The gym (no matter what time of day) is packed. Most popular machines will indeed be taken or will be crowded in particular spots. They have the entire place filled with trainers at all times. To me, it just never felt comfortable and I always felt out of place. Maybe it's an issue of taking too many memberships on or having upwards of 5-10 trainers there constantly but for me it was never worth it. I immediately regretted buying into the year plan. I ended up getting a second membership at Planet Fitness and say what you will but I love it there. There are times when the gym is empty- it's way more spacious and the hours are way better. To pay $210 just to have a gym close at 7:00pm every night is insanity....actually (they've changed their hours til 8 but that is still absolutely ridiculous). Also you get ONE single guest pass (yup that's it) at Equinox and I can bring as many guests as I like to PF on any given day. I did love their Pilates and Yoga classes so if you're into that, I'd say give it a try because the cost may be worth it if you go enough. Also I did have some one on ones with two trainers and they were absolutely lovely people and always incredibly friendly, but the gyms need to push you into buying training sessions is a bit much. This is just a matter of preference and besides the hours and gym traffic, if you're someone who is already seasoned and goes to the gym regularly, maybe it'd be worth it. But as someone who just goes to the gym simply to move my body and has no regimen...this is a terrible place to start so hopefully I'm just the dumb guinea pig to this experiment haha. I hope this helps anyone out that was curious.

It is so not worth the $220 a month. Equipment is new and the variety is pretty good, but quantity is low. Only 2 benches for the entire gym.
