Was a member here for over two years and wanted to put in my 30 day notice to cancel my membership because I was moving… The system “glitched” and immediately canceled my membership even though I was told I would be fine to workout through the end of September. I spoke with the manager and she told me my only option was to pay $30 more than I usually pay for a one month pass or sign up for a new membership. Can’t believe this is how they treat a customer that was one of the first to sign up.Also, the gym is always messy, spills everywhere, gum on the floor, etcThe staff is a bunch of clueless kids that sit at the front desk on their phones and don’t even acknowledge members when they move in.Big Planet Fitness vibes. Don’t recommend.

Very bad experience trying to downgrade a membership. I called and was told it was downgraded. I check my account two months later - still charged for higher amount. I call to ask what happened. I'm told the original employee changed the membership level but didn't tell me I had to come in to get the fee lowered. So I go in and then learn that there is a fee to downgrade. Seems like a really odd fee and it's frustrating this wasn't told to me either of the times I called. I ask to speak to the manager. The experience with him was so unprofessional and just weird that I canceled. Fee for that, too, by the way. Out the door it costs more to cancel/downgrade than actually attend. And management was so unprofessional and just odd it makes me wonder what else is going on there. Plenty of other places to get fit.

Great staff, great facilities, always have events going on or promoting popular brands on the last Monday of the month

No contracts, but if you move and need to cancel, they are going to expect you to waste your time and money writing a signed LETTER and sending via CERTIFIED MAIL in order to cancel your membership. This is the one the WORST, most non-customer friendly policies I’ve ever heard of. Will never join an Amped Fitness again.

Run!! This place is complete scam with billing. I enrolled due to the .01 promo for under the impression that I only owed $22 a month (was told this at the gym) only for them to be charging me $73 for some annual fee that was not disclosed to me at the time of enrollment. The staff was completely rude and dismissive. I emailed support multiple times. Nothing, I called the Birmingham location multiple times nothing. I ended up having to go up there only for the manager Jordan to be a nonchalant about everything. Funny thing about it, there was another lady customer there with the same complaint as me but she was charged 3 times for an annual fee. (Sheesh)My advice would be to go to planet fitness or 24 hour fitness. This gym is not it.

Worst experience of my life in 15 years of training. Was ganged up on by the employees over a miscommunication that did NOT have to be escalated. The female manager creates a hostile environment

Just see below the reviews regarding personal training on here and their BBB complaints. I was misled during the initial set up of personal training resulting in unauthorized charges. I attempted to resolve this issue for 4 weeks to find out the following: the General Manager who signed me up was terminated after I left several messages. The new one refused to contact me as he “Does not contact customers to reiterate policy”. I was denied access to the gym for ~2 weeks as I disputed the charge with my bank due to no contact. I wanted to go back to the gym so I was regrettably charged another month of PT again to get access. I then asked since I was charged would I get my sessions that I paid for. I was told the only way was to complete the 3 sessions by tomorrow, which is not possible.
