After spending thousands of dollars with them (including expensive personal training session that never got used because I started at a job that did not work with the Gym schedule) the only option they provide for cancellation if life has changed is to go in person and sign a form. Then they charge you the annual fee that has not yet come into play as well as an additional month of dues. I sure hope the additional $35 and waste of my time and gas is worth it because you have lost a potential customer forever. When I expressed my frustration the lady at the counter was very rude saying you signed an agreement. Yes, she is correct 3 years ago I signed a long form with lots of small writing and yes you have every legal right to charge me additional funds but is a a good business model and good customer service?

The gym is okay if you just need a basic workout. Their machines are not the best, but get the job done. Cancelling an account is not easy. You must give 30 days notice and they still charge you. The staff changes way too much and the trainers can be annoying. During their classes you lose quite a bit of space, because their classes take up quite a bit of room. A two star rating for a 24 hour inexpensive gym...watch for $25 charges that take place a few times a year...surprise!

I've been going to Johnnys for almost a year now, and so far it's been a great gym. Recently I moved to the Findlay from the overland location and the staff made the transition incredibly pleasant. I now use their babysitting services and they are very nice and work well with my kid. Also their guy Kurt is the coolest and gave me and my workout partner a ton of useful tips and encouragement. For the price you pay for it it's well worth the money and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for an easy going gym.

TL;DR - Facilities are below average, customer service is wretched.I'd like to tell a story about Johnny's Fit Club. You know those gyms that are just trying to take your money, and make cancelling your membership next to impossible? This is one of those gyms.My story begins three years ago, in the summer of 2014. I signed up for a membership, and then cancelled in person within the 3 day window, as I had found another gym. I was told that my money would be refunded and no further chargers would be added, and I went on my merry way.Fast forward 6 months. I had long since left Boise, when I noticed that I was still being charged monthly dues. Well that's strange! Called up the club to get the problem rectified, and my money refunded. Spent weeks going back and forth with a sales associate (the very one who signed me up, and signed off on my cancelled membership). Turns out they had "lost" my cancellation slip. The sales associate remembered the fact that I cancelled, but was unwilling to give me a refund because Johnny's outsources their billing (this should have been a red flag from the beginning) and he couldn't get them to comply without said slip. After way more arguing than I should have had to do, I convinced the sales associate that it was still the club's responsibility. He said he would speak with the owner and get me my money back.Never heard back after this, and e-mails went unanswered. I never received a refund (including the 6 months of monthly fees) but I decided it was no longer worth the struggle, as my time is more valuable than the money they stole from me. However, the monthly fees did stop at this point. It is currently 2017, almost 3 years after my 3 days I spent as a member of Johnny's, and I am STILL getting yearly "maintenance" fees, as well as e-mails telling me my account is past due. Well that's interesting. After all, I ceased getting monthly fees, so I surely am not a member anymore, right? Wrong. The billing company says they can't do anything, and Johnny's is still is ignoring me. The saga continues. My assumption was that most people would not face the same problems, but after looking at other reviews I don't believe I am alone. Please be careful with this gym and keep your eye out for fraudulent billing.

I've been coming to Johnny's for 2 years now and have nothing but great things to say. I've read some of these other reviews and just get so upset because I pay $9.99 a month, and yes they have a $25 fee one time a year. But that keeps these gyms up-kept. Because you pay and don't use it, don't hurt a small business that provides everything you need for such an affordable rate. Thanks JFC for being awesome!

Like other posters have said their customer service is terrible. Unless you plan on having a membership here for the rest of your life. DON'T DO IT!I actually enjoyed working out here and generally had no complaints for the cheap price. But due to some extenuating circumstances we needed to cancel our membership. Before this I would have considered coming back some day when we could afford it. Now, absolutely not. They can only cancel M-Th. When you absolutely can't come in during those times they still refuse to cancel over the phone, or refuse even work with you so that you can come in and sign paper work at a later time. She was incredibly rude to boot. Save yourself the hassle and pay an extra $10 for a place that can actually do what you need.

Customer service is non existent and most likely ran by a bunch of nuggets. They lack the professional communication skills to find a solution to either questions or concerns. No notification on late payments. I noticed that I hadn't been charged for a while so I had to email them myself to figure it out so I wouldn't get charged extra only to wait five days to hear back from them. Apparently the payments didn't go through because I needed to update my info....yet they didn't and wouldn't have emailed me to inform me. If I hadn't emailed them they would have charged me late fees. You're welcome, Fitclub staff members, for completing this simple task for you! Still waiting on day 5 for another reply through email to resolve this issue! Highly doubt you guys are that busy to the point that you can't email me back 5 days later! Please, if you are debating whether or not to get a membership at this gym...trust all of these one star reviews because they are very, very accurate. The membership may be cheaper than some of the other gyms in Boise but the facility isn't great and it costs you time and more money to cancel the membership!Lame!

Be careful of management at 5 mile. I was very ill and they charged me anyway. It cost me over $100.00 for two visits to the gym. They charged me monthly when I had pneumonia and was sick for over two months. The manager told me I would not be charged. He charged. Me anyway . When I quit he hit my credit card for an annual admin fee, a cancelling fee and the three months I could not go to the gym. So, basically it cost me over $100.00 for two visits to the gym.

Don't even give a second thought to join or be a member of this gym. They will force you to pay something you didn't use. They will force you not to cancel your membership by harassing you over the phone. The manager won't talk to you when you call them. They only want your money, their service is extremely poor. Spend your money wisely with other gym in Boise. Plenty of choices, better choices.

This gym is NOT good. I wouldn't give it ANY stars but google makes us give at least 1 to post a review. Boise, Idaho locations: They have old equipment, too many people crammed into a small area with no room to work out. I have been paying month to month for the past 2 years, I have used the gym approximately 20 times over the past 2 years and now that I want to cancel my membership I was informed that I have to pay a $30.00 cancellation fee for BOTH my husband and myself! What a joke....NOT impressed!
