Combat Fitness is an awesome MMA gym. Ever since I walked in I've felt the friendly vibe, only for the first few minutes that I was there I felt anxious, but after just one class I felt right at home. Awesome gym.

I just joined Combat last week, and met with Jesse during my consultation. This is more of a review of the consultation process because to be honest I have yet to kick off the Foundations program itself because of being out of town and then getting sick this week.I read a review below from someone named Drew, and thought I should review the process as well since I also met with Jesse and it sounds like me and drew are dealing with some of the same weight issues. To put everything on the table and for the honesty of reviewing businesses which are people's and families livelihood, I want to disclose that I signed up for the program last week and im already starting to pay for it.Also, I am 6'6" and about 375lbs. At one point I was a very athletic person but as you can see from my weight, I'd be hard pressed to find someone to call me that now days.In the last 10 years I've paid for (and barely used) enough standard gym memberships to give everyone on Google a free year. Which is why I purposely sought out a different format of getting in shape.I looked and spent several days researching all of the "MMA Style" gyms within 40 miles of my house in Boise. And hands down, everything pointed me to contacting Combat Fitness.I advise everyone to do the same and just research it and come up with with your own decision. It wasn't hard for me to come to this conclusion. With that being said, this isn't your normal gym. Which is why it is so highly rated. If someone is looking to speak with a smiling salesmen at the consultation that will just tell you what ever they have to in order to get you to open up your wallet, you will have to go to a normal gym.The guys at Combat, and I got this from Jesse as well, they become like a family and want you to succeed in your goals. On top of that it's very affordable (im lower middle class man with a family) and that was a major factor. And lastly, like I mentioned, I am classified as morbidly obese. And not one time did I ever feel like I was being looked at like I'm out of place. It's actually to the contrary, I was the one with the apprehension, and Jesse encouraged me and made me fill comfortable about joining Combat. The only time weight came up and topics about being out of shape, was when I brought them up. I'm not going to pretend like I'm not who I am, but it wasn't a factor one bit.Anyways, I'll finally be starting the foundations program this Friday. Although I'm still apprehensive because of my lack of athleticism, I'm very much looking forward to getting in shape again cause it's been to long and learning how to defend myself and my family if ever needed in hand to hand combat. And I know I'm in good hands at Combat Fitness.Ryan

Friendly staff, great facility. Located downtown-with noon classes to accommodate lunch hour workouts. Great vibe. Excited to see how I progress in my fitness goals as I engage in the training.

Great gym!! Have been training at CF for 4 years. Trainers are top notch in muay thai, boxing, and jiu jitsu. BEST IN IDAHO!

A month into my membership I am pleasantly surprised. Everyone is much more friendly and helpful than I expected. To be honest I looked at other facilities first figuring this one was for high level and competitive MMA folks. While highly skilled athletes are there, most participants are regular folks like me. I am the typical over weight middle aged guy needing something more physical. As a rank beginner the trainers have been helpful, and willing to talk and work with you after class. All levels of skill and fitness are welcome, and everyone is encouraged to challenge themselves at their level. No condescending attitudes, bullying or shaming, they are glad you are there making and effort to improve yourself. Elderly, over weight, and non-athletes will find a home here, as well as competitive athletes.Safety and cleanliness are always a priority. The rates are reasonable when compared to other facilities. The only negative I have encountered so far is parking space. My experience has been pleasant, and I plan to continue attending.

Combat fitness has been a great way to get back into shape and I love how professional they are. They are not only great with advanced fighters but are amazing with beginners as well. They are very patient and will break down the basics for new comers to grasp. I look forward to spending the next 6 months with them to build basic fighting knowledge from the best in Boise. They’re facility is very well equipped and clean. :)

Excellent staff!!!! They are very friendly and really take the time to make sure you understand the techniques and I really appreciate them making the training environment conducive for the new people. It was a little intimidating being around people that have been doing bjj for years but they made me feel very comfortable and make me excited to be in the classes learning new things. If you are interested in learning I highly recommend this gym!!!

My entire family is so thankful to the entire team at Combat Fitness. From returning our emails before we arrived, to welcoming us to the gym, to the outstanding training our kids receive every day Combat never failed to impress. It's been amazing to watch how much our kids have grown and developed as fighters and professionals, and that's thanks to all the effort and sweat of the outstanding staff and trainers. As people who have trained at the very best gyms in Japan and Thailand, I can confidently say Combat Fitness is a world class organization that will no doubt produce future champions.

My friends and I are extremely impressed with this facility. We looked at other options before picking this one. The training staff are well qualified and extremely helpful during classes. If we struggled they were right there to help and explain new concepts. We are excited to see results from the training we are receiving. Even though we have only been to a few classes we can begin to see result and can't wait to continue our fitness and boxing programs.

Combat Fitness,There are a lot of things I enjoy about this gym. One of the main ones that make it so great is the way they make you seem like you are welcome, no matter what your skill level it doesn’t matter to them and they will take the time to explain and demonstrate. Even better than that, my fellow trainees I expected to be focused entirely on themselves and advancing themselves rather than taking the time to help others like me. Despite my assumptions, it was totally on the contrary. They took time out of their training to come help me with anything I needed. The instructors are superb, they have better patience than I would ever expect and they aren’t going to rest until I understand exactly what I’m doing. I absolutely love this gym and I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else, I can already tell I am going to excel very well using this program.
