I was just visiting and went in for a trial class. They were so nice and when I tried to pay the mat fee, they said don’t worry about it since I was a college student and just visiting. They are super accomplished and good fighters! Would highly recommend!

Had the chance to drop in to Broadway Jiu-Jitsu’s No-Gi session on Friday night. The staff and their students were extremely welcoming and friendly and their coaches were professional and technical. Super grateful for the experience. I highly recommend anyone visiting the area to train here!

I trained at Broadway for the last year and a half that I lived in Boston and can't recommend it highly enough. I started with zero experience in martial arts, and found Broadway to be a welcoming environment with high expectations. If you are on the fence about starting to train, I'd encourage you to give it a try. My review reflects my training experience before coronavirus, as I did not train during the pandemic. Broadway is now using an app to ensure class size adheres to state coronavirus guidance.Pros:- Option to attend several classes before signing up for a membership.- Great instructors with a strong focus on technique and safety.- Good mix of beginner and advanced classes. White-belt only classes meet three times a week, with plenty of opportunity to attend more advanced classes once you get more comfortable.- Frequent classes: BJJ classes are available every day of the week, with options for midday and evening classes.- Great training partners. Broadway has a demanding culture, but with a focus on helping training partners improve and keeping one another healthy.- Women's only class once a week. Broadway has a consistent group of female students, which I found helpful for technique and camaraderie.Not-really-cons-just-things-to-keep-in-mind:- Can be difficult to pace yourself as a beginner. Instructors and training partners will encourage you to push yourself and attend all-levels classes ASAP. This is a great fit for some students, but I found I needed to take more time to build up technique and fitness to roll safely. I wasn't particularly athletic when I started training, so I got some minor injuries in the first three months before my body adapted, which I could have avoided by better pacing myself.- If you are a woman you'll need to be proactive if you want to roll with men. Instructors generally pair women with other women, which can mean you end up rolling with the same people each week unless you ask otherwise.

I dropped in for a class while passing through town and JC was so welcoming and accommodating. It was a large class with lots of friendly and talented training partners. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town! Highly recommend!

I have been training at Broadway for 8 months now, very good training partners and awesome instructors. I highly recommend if you looking to learn some self defense, get in shape or just pick a new hobby like BJJ

I visited from out-of-town as a 6-month experience white belt. JC and his crew were incredibly accommodating and made me feel right at home. His teaching methods were very thorough and detailed and provided additional insights that I hadn't considered before. Thanks again, JC!

before i started training at Broadway, I couldn't fight off a mild cold. i used to cower and defer to any assailant. my best defense was to assume the fetal position and weep softly while humming myself a calming lullaby. i was 200 pounds overweight, and i couldn't post a review like this one without first licking the cheeto dust off my fingers. but now - thanks to JC and the rest of the Broadway team - I am physically fit, calm, and confident in any altercation. last week, when i saw a group of bullies picking on a child on the T, I flexed my newfound abs and scared half of them away. then i used my martial arts knowledge to subdue the remaining attackers and rescued their victim without a second thought. the entire train applauded, three women gave me their phone numbers, and a finance executive on board offered me a VP position on the spot. thanks Broadway!
