24 Hour Fitness located at 2501 El Camino Real, Carlsbad, CA, is a well-equipped gym that caters to a variety of fitness needs. Situated conveniently in the mall, this gym offers an array of amenities including cardio machines, free weights, a pool, sauna, and a basketball court. Although it is not open 24 hours, its operating hours are still extensive, providing flexibility for most schedules. The staff receives mixed reviews regarding friendliness and attentiveness, but the gym maintains a generally clean environment with a pleasant atmosphere for early risers and off-peak hour users.

Despite its vast range of equipment and facilities, many users have noted issues with maintenance and cleanliness, especially in locker rooms and showers. Equipment breakdowns appear to be a recurring problem, and the gym can get overly crowded during peak hours, which can affect the availability of machines. The inconsistent operating hours and lack of proper hygiene practices, such as unstocked paper towels and dirty restrooms, are significant drawbacks. Overall, 24 Hour Fitness in Carlsbad provides good value for its price, especially if you can navigate the peak times and occasional service hiccups.

Disagree

There's usually mold in the showers and they don't clean up the men's room very often. The majority of the help is self-entitled and think they're doing you a favor. A please or a thank you doesn't exist. The disrespect is palatable...

This was a disappointing experience. First, I lift weights and this is what I'll discuss. I'm a former personal trainer and have lifted for decades. The most important aspect of lifting is form: without perfect form, you risk injury. Some rocket scientist decided to save money and only put mirrors on the upper half of the walls, meaning you cannot see yourself when you squat, lunge and do anything involving your lower body. GREAT way to ensure someone gets hurt, not to mention open yourselves up to liability and get sued.Second, at other gyms there are signs on the walls stating etiquette and rules: no dropping weights, no grunting, no phones, work in, no monopolizing machines, etc. A lot of people were never taught this etiquette, and it continues to get worse. I've had people refuse to work in ("I have 15 more minutes" as they take selfies. Well, I have two sets AND THAT'S LITERALLY THE WHOLE POINT OF WORKING IN!), and simply sit and play on their phone as they age. They act as though it's their living room. I've spoken to management about signage and nothing.Pay for a different gym that does things right. If you lift, you can definitely do better.

Gym staff are friendly…but the equipment is old and not maintained. For example the ropes for the cables are worn, with little to no other attachments. During the summer it’s over crowded and barley usable during the afternoon. What’s the point of having a plate tree if people aren’t going to put their weights back? You would think at night the closing staff would go through and clean/re rack weights but even at opening the place is a wreck. This is the first time i’ve ever written a review but jeeeze…now complaints without offering a solution is useless. Corporate do better buy new equipment and maintain the stuff you already have.

Great gym, they do a good job keeping it clean. Other gym goers are respectful. I go at 6am and it's never too busy, but it can get crowded between 4 and 7 pm.
