Tremendous value. I can also reserve a court to play pickleball or tennis. The gym is good and occasionally I play some basketball too. My wife and daughter, like the women’s only workout room.

I’ve been training with Dakota Vaughn and the entire experience has been fantastic! His knowledge of the field and commitment to his clients have helped me stay focused on my progress both in and outside of the gym. He’s made it easy for me to develop healthier lifestyle habits such as meal prepping and being more conscious of nutritional value. I would strongly recommend training with Dakota to anybody I know, regardless of physical characteristics or desired result! He has made working out fun for me and I look forward to every session I have with him! To top it all off, the results I’m seeing with him are insane!

The customer service was terrible. When I came in for the first time I was not given a membership card or number. I was not even offered a tour or welcomed in any way. The attendants seemed very uncomfortable and unprepared to answer customer questions. They were very unhelpful and it left me feeling a little lost since it was my first time here. I just got a very weird vibe from the staff here. The locker rooms were also very dirty. I left immediately. My first time and my last time ever coming here.

I’ve been a member of Genesis on Hickman since February. I left Lifetime and couldn’t be happier. The personal training team, especially Rob, are professional, experienced and have helped me meet and exceed my personal health goals. The club has all the equipment you need and the staff is friendly.

EXCELLENT GYM W/ EVERYTHING AND GREAT SERVICE- .• Upon driving up I thought “damn this place is busy” and busy gym means waiting for stuff, people walking in inconvenient places, just annoyance all around, etc. Anyways point being the place was PHAT w/ TONS of activities other than lifting. Which was my main concern from my last gym having minimal equipment and more people. (Also paying around the same here as I did my previous gym, and getting FAR BEYOND MORE BENEFITS)•The setup of all the equipment was organized, spacious, conveniently placed.•LOVE LOVE LOVE that they have a mini womens gym too on top of that SO MUCH more I mean c’mon tennis courts, sauna, massage room, classes, kickboxing room, etc.•Lastly, staff is super friendly I love that they greeted every person walking in and out. Now that’s customer service. Specifically would like to shout Marques Rodgers he was super concise, genuine, and helpful.

This gym has all the potential to be an elite training facility. Their tennis courts seem to get the funding the rest of the building is lacking. The sauna is great, bathrooms clean enough. The gym area is a bit crowded and lacks space, you can’t use the back room for lifting, that’s trainers only or after 7pm(mangers words). Cardio area has a wide variety of machines. It’s neat they have a matted area for wrestling or jujitsu. The reason for the poor review is the building is literally falling apart and the the manager seemed not to care. Ceiling tiles collapse from a leak in the roof. It’s hard to get a towel, the ones I’ve gotten have had red stains(blood?) or burn marks. Staff is hard to locate, I’ve been there 3 times and the water is shut off. The weights are usually jumbled up and unorganized.A building face lift and new manager would go a long way to bring the facility up to the level of other Genesis clubs. One can only rely on the excuse that an upgrade is coming in the future so many times until it is scene as status quo

I take Garrett’s boot camp class in the morning. He’s a great trainer committed to good form and meeting his clients where they are. Very friendly and welcoming environment. No matter your fitness level this class is for you!

Please check the Better Business Bureau before joining. This club has hunderds of complaints. Also, note that they were sued by the Kansas State Attorney General due to their treatment of consumers. Quite possibly the worst health club I've ever been a member. I canceled my membership a year ago after paying for 2 yrs upfront. At the end of the 2 yrs I started getting billed again. I went in to find out why and Marcus, the manager of the Hickman location, just told me that's their policy and I couldn't have possibly canceled my membership then. I just wanted the membership to end to signed another form and canceled then IN FRONT of Marcus. Today....a month later.....I got billed on my credit card again and called Marcus who told me that is just "their policy". That isn't even an explanation. DO NOT join here. It is worth it to pay more and go elsewhere. And if you don't believe me....look at the last 5-7 reviews.....they are all negative.I WANTED TO UPDATE MY REVIEW……..I was contacted by Genesis today 2/24/22 after cancelling my membership months ago two different times. They wanted “updated billing” information. I explained to the man calling I cancelled my membership months ago. He told me my account had been flagged delinquent and I had already been sent to collections. Why would I even be charged? I’ve signed cancellation forms and even talked to Markus personally and then on the phone again after they charged me the second month after my cancellation. Seriously? How do you make these people go away????? I just submitted a complaint to the state attorney general’s office for them to look into it. I would suggest anyone else that is having a similar problem do the same which can be easily done on-line at iowaattorneygeneral.gov.

Apparently when Gold's Gym closed they automatically switched over my membership to Genesis without notifying me. I've never stepped foot in the place and have been getting charged for the past 16 months and they refuse to give me a refund. The woman I talked to even admitted that it didn't make any sense but she still wouldn't help. Even if the gym is nice the ethics of the people that run the place are horrible and I'd stay far away.

I was a member for over a year back before they were purchased by Genesis. I canceled my membership in summer 2020, and they randomly started charging me again in summer 2021 with no explanation. They also did not return my calls or email and continued to charge me each month. I was forced to have my credit card company block their charges because I couldn't get a hold of them, and I no longer lived in WDM.Only after I blocked their charges did a representative contact me, and now they're trying to coerce me to pay the blocked fees. Please save yourself the grief and do not become a member here.EDIT on 2022-05-26-------------------------------Since Google Maps does not allow me to reply to the owner's response directly, I am editing my original review.I reached out to Genesis again on 2022-05-19 to discuss their response, and they have yet to respond a week later. In particular, the owner's response is misleading in several ways. Here are a few clarifying comments:1. I canceled my membership in person in 2020 and did not receive any charges until July 2021. Thus, I am unsure what "started back up as normal" means in this context since it was over a year after I canceled.2. I didn't notice the restarted monthly charges until November 2021. At that point, I called and sent an email to Genesis on November 6, telling them to stop and reimburse the charges immediately. I did not receive a response.3. Once I noticed Genesis charged me again even after my email, I resorted to blocking charges from them through my credit card company.4. Then, on December 23, I received a phone call from Genesis, mentioning that they tried to charge me, but the charge failed. I explained the situation over the phone and that I canceled both in-person and sent an email in November and received no response. I was never instructed to provide documentation, and from my memory of the conversation, I thought the matter was resolved.5. I hadn't received a phone call, an email, or a mailing from Genesis until an auto-generated email on May 18. Thus, from my perspective, the owner seems to be directly lying about both the December phone call (which Genesis initiated---not me) and the calling and mailing me once a month. (Although I moved in 2020, so it is theoretically possible they were sending mail to my old address that I never received.)In conclusion, my point still stands that you may want to save yourself the grief and avoid membership. If you decide to become a member, I recommend you carefully document your communication with them and closely watch your credit card statements.
