It's great that it's open 24 hours a day, it's more affordable than most large gyms. It also has a friendly staff that cleans the place regularly.

Even though it’s kind of small, this place takes great advantage of its space and has a variety of equipment. Only thing is there is horrible ventilation in here and it gets very warm/hot. To top it off, there’s a new staff (short female) in the mornings who always turns down the overhead fans as soon as she arrives and the place ends up feeling like a sauna. When you have too many people working out and breathing close to each other, we all generate body heat and it gets hot. Definitely needs better ventilation/AC

Its dirty and smells..!!We have options (3 different locations) to go too before we get to this planet fitness.(2 of the locations are just 10-15 mins away.)Before the pandemic, this was our gym of choice.. We'll have to do a little drive, but we didn't care.We tried going back to our routines.. Things had changed since last in this gym..My reward after a great workout was the shower.. Both women and mens showers are not kept clean.. At some point you could see mildew build up.. For the mens showers, after a few more chances; started getting better at keeping cleaning..("Cleaningness" wasn't an issue back then)Can't say the same for women's showers..The crowd isn't the best.. It gets packed now.. Worst part about it, it gets packed with people that just sit and text at the machine..P.S. we haven't gone back since EST. May 2023started going to Midcity (if its worth the drive... We don't mind)

Downey Planet Fitness has hired employees with great people skills. I have been at gyms where there isn’t even eye contact when you check in. Planet Fitness trainers know you by name and go out of their way to greet you ... They are very accommodating....love this gym!!. It is always always VERY clean!!!

I went there on a Friday around 7pm, it was packed. The place is way too small, there is not enough space between each piece of equipment and there is not enough equipment for their customers. 0 space for stretching. People working there are not very welcoming like other locations.

Very clean. Not super crowded. Friendly and helpful staff. Manager was very helpful and patient with helping me change my location and crazy long tag number.

i used to have planet fitness about 3 years ago when it first came out and i got the deal with the black card, i had all the amenities included.. this gym is clean and open 24 hours, my favorite was the hydromassage bed.. unfortanately i switched to a different gym with all access even a sauna and pool with jacuzzi i love planet fitness

I recently relocated from SD and made Downey my new home gym. The staff here are always super friendly and always very welcoming. The facility itself is always really clean including the women’s bathroom and locker room. I’ve definitely been to other PF around LA where this isn’t the case. This location isn’t the closest to my house, but i drive the extra distance bc of how clean it is and how great the ppl are.
