This place is great, but I live close to All-Star Taekwon-Do in West Caldwell. A lucky break for me. A great place - or, in my opinion, the best. I practiced in CO and a few other locations over 40 years, and I know the difference. They have self-defense and stick fighting, and self-defense classes for women.

I have been training under Allstar MMA for a decade and it's been nothing but positive and professional experiences. All knowledgeable black belt and world champion instructors! More people need to be taking advantage of this gym!

From the moment I stepped foot in Allstar MMA I felt welcome. Every training partner I’ve had has been patient, understanding and easy to work with. I’ve always felt safe with every member I’ve trained with. I’ve been a student of Jamal Patterson for my entire jiu jitsu career and would be the first to recommend Allstar to any interested party and especially to women interested in training BJJ.

I started here a year ago with zero BJJ experience. Getting started was intimidating but the instructors have all pushed me out of my comfort zone while still allowing me to work at my own pace. Both the higher belts and instructors are super generous with their time, answering questions and demonstrating moves. Anyone who comes here and makes the effort to learn and practice regularly will see themselves improve.

Check this gym out especially if you are a LEO. It is an affiliate school of @adoptacopbjj and a @njleojiujitsu friendly gym.

This place has felt like home since day 1. Attention to detail through and through from America making sure you’re ready for your first session to the coaches recognizing/acknowledging your weak points, and pushing you through your workouts. Jamal shows interest in everyone that comes through his doors. Very comfortable environment.

I came across this place via social media where they were advertising a "free" 42 day fitness challenge. Once I arrived they began to inform me that they need a deposit of $480 for the program. Of course I ask why if it's "free"? They began to explain that what makes it free is that this deposit will go towards one of their martial arts courses after the challenge. Sounded strange but decided to proceed since i do enjoy martial arts. So i signed up and was to begin August 1st. They asked me if I wanted to try a class since I'm there already. This was July 30. I did their BJJ class because it was the next one about to begin. I left feeling ok but by the time I woke up Monday morning I couldn't move my dominant arm. I went to the doctor who took x-rays and explained to me that something like BJJ is too physical for me to do at this time. I explained the same and even sent them a doctor's letter from my follow-up visit and now they refuse to give me a refund. So now I have to go forward with next steps. #scammers

Waking up at 5am on a Monday isn’t easy but we’ll worth it to train here! Wether you’re interested in how to defend yourself or just get in shape this place offers it all! The staff is always friendly and really works with you. Seriously thankful every time I get to go!
