Encountered the WORST customer service in this location.The owner screamed at me in the parking lot asking where I was going and why I was parked there. Meanwhile if he would have checked my car first he would have seen my Retro parking pass in the dashboard. To make it even worse he continued to harass and yell at me once inside the gym during my workout and did not even apologize. I have been a loyal gym member to Retro and will now be going to the location uptown. The Bayonne location is the WORST in customer service and experience.

It is always a mess downstairs in the weight room. Staff does not take proper measures to talk with members about racking weights or keeping the area clean. As I stated the downstairs is always disgusting. Locker rooms are subpar. The manager or owner, whoever the little guy is, is very defensive and very argumentative. Do yourself a favor work out in any of the other retrofitnesses. I know the ones in Jersey City are nothing to look at either but it's better than here.

I appreciate the inclusive and friendly staff. I feel totally accepted and encouraged. The child Care staff is amazing and I'm grateful for the opportunity to exercise and not have to worry about my kids. The classes and instructors are really great as well.

The staff is very friendly and professional. It's not the biggest gym but it does have 3 floors and the equipment is very clean. I call it my up, close and personal gym and the classes are like having a personal trainer everytime. Love it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

On August 6th, 2018 my wife and I signed up for Retro Fitness and personal training for a 1 year contract with one free month included, paying roughly $220 each month.Mid way thru the year, our personal trainer, who we liked and grew accustomed to working out with was abruptly fired, and they didn't tell us about it, but charged us for it anyway. For a few weeks nobody told us about it and finally one of the managers came up to us and said they found us a replacement trainer and will credit us for the lost sessions.Things were okay again but not the same, not what we originally had signed up for. Through out the rest of the year, other people would occasionally be squeezed into our PT sessions that we were paying for, wasn't happy about that.Moral of the story, we weren't thrilled about the service but faithfully stuck to our agreement making every payment on time. Now a year later our contract is up and Retro Fitness is telling us to pay $96 for the 13th month. None of this makes sense because we have 12 months of PT payments, and 11 months of membership payments (1 month was included for free), we even notified them several months in advance that we DID NOT want to renew our memberships, we also have zero late payments. Now every week Retro Fitness is calling us and sending us a bill that we owe them $96.We are really not happy about this and really tried to give them a chance since they are a local business, but we are losing respect for them each time they contact us about this.Now they are taking me to collections for over $200.

It was a very bad experience, I just can describe how bad this gym from A to Z. From the workers, management, machines, cleaning, and treatment. They have a very bad attitude if you don't believe it just try it. I never recommend it to anyone.

Worst fitness ever, bad management specially that guy Bryan he is the worst, horrible people, and very racist, they will keep charging you even after you tell them you want to cancel, I told them I want to cancel my account because they treated me very bad and most of the machines are not working most of the time, and when I told them they said ok but you have to pay 70% of what is remaining, I was like how does that make sense to pay 70% of the remaining monthly payments when I’m not gonna come anymore, they said it’s in the contract! Even that no one said anything when I was signing the contract, then I said ok I’ll keep it and try to make a lemonade out of the lemon, but then few months later it gets worse so I was like no that’s enough I don’t want to go to this place anymore so I went and asked them to cancel and pay the 70% so he told me oh sorry but if you want to cancel you gonna have to pay the whole amount and I was like how are you kidding me, didn’t you said before I’ll pay 70% and when I told you why you said it’s in the contract, he said yeah but sorry cuz the owner just changed the roles one hour ago and here he left me in a chock😳😳 I was but it’s a contract he said but this is the new roles. So guys no matter what you will lose, be careful and stay away from this place, they will take your money and will treat you badly

THERE ARE NOT TRAINERS. I was lied about training services. They told me I could cancel at any time if the trainer couldn’t train me. Now that my trainer LEFT along with the manager, the new manager said that I CANNOT CANCEL. Now I’m in $300.00/month contract that I CAN’T USE BECAUSE THERE ARE NOT TRAINERS. AVOID THIS PLACE.

Very warm, welcoming and accessible staff of whom I have interacted, specifically Leslie Gago, Peter Grillo and Brian Buska.There exists a clearly maintained good quality control as every piece of equipment I have used in my new membership has been in a non-compromised working order.As a retired Radiologic Technologist, I am astutely aware of the supremacy of maintaining an environment of preventing diseases’ insidious spread whether in a hospital or a gym. I am, quite frankly, amazed at how clean this facility remains due to the obviously immense work ethic of Marible Rodriguez. Even the air vents are spotless!Retro Fitness should be proud of this franchise and I am most pleased, thus far, with switching from another gym.

The facilities are nice but the management is corrupt. I asked to change my membership and they thought I wish to downgrade and was told that the computer is down but when I said I had to upgrade my membership the computer came up and they did it. When I went to cancel my personal training same thing I was told computer is down. I had to go to the court for them to cancel.
