Genesis Health Clubs - Independence

The staff couldn't find the master key to my locker when I could not remember the combination. ,the parking lot has very poor lighting and it is very dark on the lot., I would rather have a bring your own lock type of locker or at least some of them for your own lock. some of the parking lot needs holes filled in. outside of these issues, I like the gym. Staff is friendly and helpful, nice cool air conditioning in the summer.

Amazing remodel, I left for a bit and came back and it’s a brand new Gym!! The staff are friendly and helpful and they go the extra mile!! I’m getting in the best shape of my life and I look forward to coming in every day!!

Love the Aqua Fitness and Aqua Zumba classes! My favorite instructors are Jennifer and Michelle for Aqua Fitness classes. LOVE Friday Aqua Zumba with Christa!!! If they offered this class every day, I’d be there!!! I’ve also participated in classes on land and used the personal training services (Kudos to Alex!). Very pleased with the positive environment in the gym.

Absolutely love all my water Instructors from 8:15 -10:30. Each one gives her best to help us be our healthy best self. Due to knee replacement, I have thoroughly missed Bootcamp, R&B cycling, yoga, and Mary's strengthening class. I can't wait to resume these amazing workout classes. I have been a member at this location since it was 24 Hour Fitness and have to rave about the recent Genesis remodel. The facilities' upgrade is a massive improvement with tons of new equipment and an all-new 2nd floor cardio area. That being said, the real reason I love the gym is because of my personal trainer, Jon Dandurand. He is extremely knowledgeable, very easy to talk to and does a fantastic job of keeping me motivated. I have a physical disability and he is always listening to my feedback and adjusting exercises to fit my needs. When I began my personal training journey with Jon, I weighed 168+ lbs. and had well over 20%+ body fat. Under Jon's tutelage, I have lost over 30 lbs. and have dropped my body fat to 12%. It has really been life changing to have my health and fitness back. Also, the front desk staff are super fun and outgoing. Finally, the manager, Steve, was nice enough to hang out with me in the parking lot when my car was in a minor fender-bender.

The wife and I joined this gym and were assigned Caleb Eades as our personal trainer this dude is awesome his knowledge and enthusiasm out standing. if anyone has a chance to get on his schedule would highly recommend his energy and compassion were just what we needed to get on track see real changes.

An awesome gym for my needs! All of the people there have been amazing and my trainer Caleb Eades is one of the top trainers there in my opinion. He has helped me for over a year and a half and I have been able to stay truly consistent in my workouts. I highly recommend him if you are looking for a personal trainer that will focus on what your goals are and how to improve a personalized program. The updated gym areas are top notch and all the equipment is available to me when I need it for the most part. Keep up the great work!

This club is the cleanest place I've ever worked out in. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Especially enjoy the instruction and training I get from my personal trainer, Joel Allen. Highly recommend a membership.

Nice remodeled place, equipment is also nice.One of the most overcrowded and disorganized gyms I’ve ever been to. If you go during peak hours prepare to spend half your workout waiting on equipment and chasing down plates.

I canceled my membership because my kids prefer a different gym (friends, not because this gym is bad) and I felt kinda uncomfortable there, like mayne its meant for more fit people and not moms. When I canceled, the guy I canceled with offered me 60 days and 3 free sessions. I scheduled one, and when I got there, he said he "tried to call me to cancel, but I could wait an hour..." I already told them I felt uncomfortable there. Now I know I'll never go back.
