This place has become our new home away from home. If you're even on the fence about joining just jump in and give it a try. There's a wealth of knowledge and experience here to draw from. From kids to adults it has everything you'd need. Been a true game changer for all of us.

Was very welcoming and very helpful when getting started! Great deals and even better coaches. Every time I step out that door, I feel so refreshed and feel like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. A great choice if starting, returning, or switching gyms.

My poor son stood around most of the time doing nothing. The coaches care more about chatting up girls than actually teaching. There is no trial class to see if you like it or not. I paid a $349 cancellation fee just so my son can leave. They preach about being a family but when approached about their coaches not coaching, all I got back was “Oh, no, they are good”. Don’t waste your money here.

When my husband and I started at SBG 6 months ago, everyone had nothing but the most positive things to say about the coaches, instruction, and members at both the Buford and Atlanta locations. Coming from a different gym with about 4 years of previous martial arts experience, the members didn't realize how right they were. Everything at SBG is on a whole other level from quality to an elevated sense of being part of a team that they refer to as TRIBE. The beginners feel this right away and people like myself with experience see how valuable a community like this is. This is truly a place for everyone with the attention and detail they put into each person from their first day to the professional competition level and everything in between.

They are very unprofessional. I went in there one day, and without hearing me out or caring what I had to saY they blew me off and shoo me out the door. If it was this gym or anything they cared about they would want to be heard, but could not afford that basic decency to me. Therefore, I would consider going elsewhereThey thought I was selling something because I came before I went to my job. He blew me off and said I don’t care about none of that. It’s cool I moved out of state and will learn from people that give a dam about me

Great experience for the whole family! The staff is attentive and professional while dedicated to get the best from you or your kids. Also, SBG is super clean without that grimes gym smell.

I've been a member of SBG Buford since 2012 and I'm amazed at how they continue to grow and improve their teaching methods. This year, they added an "Advanced" class series that focuses entirely on just one position for 3 months straight. After attending these classes for the past 9 months, my game has improved tremendously and I am convinced this is the way of the future. It's a great feeling to be training for 10+ years and still feel like there is so, so much more to learn here!

I've been a student of coach phillipe for 11 years. I started my bjj journey at a different gym but I wanted to look for a place to train safe and learn more techniques. Coach Phillipe is an excellent instructor and a great leader. Not only he cares about your martial art journey, he truly cares about you as a person. I learned so much from him and all the friends I met at SBG buford. I look forward to continue my training here and would recommend SBG buford to anyone!

Whether you're an experienced martial artist or new to training you are treated with respect and seen as a part of the tribe right away. Sure, you need to get to know people but that's the difference at this gym - people are willing to get to know you. The skill of the instructors and their ability to impart what they know to you in a digestible fashion is incredible. The instructors are constantly working on new techniques and refining old ones. I have been attending class for about 6 weeks and intend on staying at SBG Buford. Period. It's the right gym for me and recommend it to anyone interested.

Hands down the best gym I have trained at, even after only having been here for around four months. Not only is it an amazing facility with great equipment and amenities (pads, weights, shower, sauna), but also filled with top tier instruction. I have trained in martial arts for over 12 years from five different gyms, and none of them come close in terms of the quality of the coaches in every aspect of mixed martial arts, from Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, to putting it all together in a mixed martial arts or self-defense context. For years I thought of myself as someone who merely did martial arts for fun and self-defense, but I lacked the confidence and desire to compete. What SBG made me realize is that it is easier to find the confidence to compete when you are in a good environment with a real sense of camaraderie. Everyone I have interacted with at the gym has been extremely welcoming from day one. I truly feel like part of a team here where we all make each other better martial artists and people. The instructors also go out of their way to make you feel appreciated and supported whether you are a new member or a veteran of the gym.Whether you are someone looking for great workouts to stay in shape, to learn self-defense, or to pursue martial arts seriously and competitively, I cannot recommend this gym enough. It strikes the sweet spot between being family-friendly while also having a number of extremely skilled amateur and professional fighters. I drive over 40 minutes to get to this gym and it is well worth it even if you are slightly further.
