Amped Fitness (Pinellas Park)

Don't sign up here! You're better off going to any other gym than this one. Read the other reports filed against Amped and especially the ones about failure to cancel contracts due to "incorrect" billing addresses. BBB and the Federal Trade Commission all have their eyes on not only this business but the higher ups due to shady businesses. Avoid talking to the blonde, swollen lipped, female manager she knows nothing and will lie about everything.

Okay gym with minimal, basic equipment. However the staff is another story. They will bold face LIE about members and get them banned. Completely invade locker room privacy and attack you for questioning it. They IGNORE or do nothing about repeated security threats, like people who don't workout at all sleeping in the sauna, vip room, locker room, bathroom stall, and massage chair in the early morning, non staffed hours. Broken equipment will take months to be repaired, and hardly anyone re-racks their weights. So if you don't mind not feeling safe while you work out from both the staff and environment, this is your spot!

If I could leave 0 stars and still review it, I would. I recently moved down to Pinellas Park from New York City with my partner, and Amped seemed like a great place for us to go… unfortunately, it has been everything but great. I was signed up for a membership without being disclosed the sign-up fees or annual fees, whatever it was that I was charged $56 for two months in… I didn’t even know they had an outside area in the back until three months into my membership, because that was not included on my tour… Weights are never re-racked, there are better vibes at a Planet Fitness. Sarah & Jess, the front desk manager and general manager, are extremely disappointing. The energy is very high-school cliquey, which is odd… since everyone is an adult. Sarah is highly unprofessional & uneducated, I’m TRULY not sure how she obtained this position… like seriously. I don’t know how. Maybe she knows someone who owns the branch? Or is best friends with the GM? She doesn’t know what she’s doing. I love supporting my fellow women, but girls, this ain’t it… please do better, if not for the gym, for yourselves. This gym needs help. Unfortunately I know this review will simply insight a pasted reply with an email to a “support” staff, only to be overlooked and disregarded, because this chain of gyms has no clue how to maintain good or even subpar customer service. Look into hiring some new managers as a starting point. This location is in desperate need of it. Seriouslyyy disappointed. (4 months in & I’m already canceling my membership😭)

Don't waste your time if you need to go outside of staffed hours. They advertise 24 hours but there's constant issues with the app for the door access. They dont care and are very rude and unhelpful. Management is a joke... hanging out at the front desk gossiping about members. Going to the gym is already intimidating for some ppl, so ppl like that make us not want to go at all.Going to cancel as soon as I can make back there to do so cause the employee behavior and lack of access is unacceptable.Don't recommend this location to anyone.

ZERO ZERO ZERO stars!!!!!!!!!! BEWARE!!!!!!!!! This is an absolute SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The front end manager SARAH EDELSBERG is beyond unprofessional. I asked a thousand questions before signing up. She said I can cancel any time. Rushed me through the sign up process. I called 24 hours later to cancel since my cousin told me I signed up at the wrong Amped fitness and told me I will regret it if I don’t cancel right away. My cousin was beyond right! I called to inquire about canceling my membership that I never even used and of course they gave me the run around. First, when I asked for a manager they took my name and said one would call me back later that day. NEVER HAPPENED! Called back later that day and they told me one will call tomorrow. NEVER HAPPENED! Later to find out they were never going to call me back. I came in on day 3 after signing up to sign cancellation paperwork. I asked about my refund and the gentleman gave me a number to call for refund. The number is only for when the payments automatically get taken out for your membership by 3rd party.( pretty sure he knew this though)another run around! Oh wait it gets better! Sarah, with the swollen lips, who happens to be the front end manager, supposedly, finally answers the phone. I asked to speak to someone above her and of course she said no one is available. Very rude with disgusting customer service to the point where she told me to stop calling and asking for a manager that I was harassing her about my refund! $24.60? That’s the big deal? It’s the principle! Horrible ,disgusting, rude YOU NAME IT! DO NOT GO HERE! Sarah said I was band from coming to that location because I told her I was coming to ask for the manager myself. Got to be kidding me! She had her friend call me pretending to be the manager and can clearly tell she wasn’t. Filed a report with the BBB! Disputed my transaction since I was within the 3 days. I read all these reviews about this place is a scam and it is SO TRUE! I’m not even from here. I’m from New York where people like SARAH wouldn’t make it in any business! My cousin meant for me sign up at the Tyrone location. She said she had a issue at Pinellas location too. Good luck Sarah 😊

I joined this gym a year ago but very quickly realized it’s not as great as many people claim. It’s entirely too small for the amount of people that workout here and has limited equipment. Good luck if you’re working out around 5pm. Only 2 real weightlifting platforms that are always taken by huge groups of people at all hours of the day… absolutely unacceptable. The outside area is uneven and obviously neglected which is a major safety hazard. Definitely the most unclean gym I’ve ever been to which is very disappointing (ex: dead cockroaches, rusty machines, grime all over floor, weights never put back, etc). The childcare room is also too small for the amount of kids that utilize it. I drive 30 mins in rush hour traffic to go to the Tyrone location because it’s phenomenal in comparison to this location. I would love to be able to workout here since it’s closer to my house but it’s inconvenient in so many ways. Take notes from the Tyrone location and do better. (Giving it 2 stars because it’s slightly better than Crunch and has the potential to be a better gym).

Really disappointing: me and my wife bought our membership, but for health reasons we couldn't attend for a single day but we kept our hopes up for 3 months, trusting the return policy that the workers of that site told us about, finally without options We decided to cancel and this is our bad experience, coming to tell us that it would be a real pleasure to cancel and that no refund would be open for more than 400 dollars, mistreatment and deceit was what we took from that place, a month later, almost recovered, it would be the last place to that I would go looking to improve my health and make my days pleasant

The worst gym are scammers, I registered with them 3 months ago and at the same time my husband was sick and we have not been able to go for a single day and I could not activate the membership but the very scammers charged me 56 dollars, they say that for registering, at The following month they charged me 9.99 even without activating the membership and this month they charge me 60 for annual renewal, which is shameless if I have not used the gym even once, call and they do not want to reimburse me for anything between my husband and I, it is like 350 dollars don't go there they are never scammers. Yesterday, August 8, I canceled the membership, I hope they don't charge me this month.
