Genesis Health Clubs - Lee's Summit West

Needed to find a gym to get back into working out after the pandemic and checked out Genesis near my home and joined the first day I toured. Checked out the personal training program as I need that type of accountability. Signed up for personal training after my free session and have not looked back! Best decision I made. Staff is great and five ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ to my trainer Kyle who sets the bar higher each time I accomplish something. Love those box jumps!!

This gym is one of the best investments that I've made. My kids love it (5 & 3), my husband and I enjoy walking and being able to visit without interruptions. The facilities are nice and equipment is well maintained. It's clean and easy to use. Not intimidating at all for someone new to gym exercise.

Great staff and I love Genesis! I wish this particular location was remodeled and that is the only reason it did not get 5 stars. Other than that all the staff are extremely polite and really helpful. I have been doing personal training sessions with Dakota M and I really like working with him(even on leg day LOL) and I will continue to do so. This gym feels safe and comfortable. I also utilize kids club and is the main reason I joined. My kids all love it and the staff working in there is very good with my kiddos. I would highly recommend joining this gym!

This location has a very open plan, with enough distance between weight machines to allow performing super-set exercise blocks without removing to the functional training area. The staff is friendly and helpful, the place itself is clean. The treadmills, ellipticals, and rowing machines are always in good repair. This is the place I choose for personal training even though there is a closer gym. I highly recommend it.

I come here pretty frequently. The people at the counter are always pretty friendly. It’s in a convenient spot for me and they have quite a selection for weights/machines. Only thing I wish is that there were a few more evening classes since I prefer later workouts but I still have a good experience overall

I have been coming to this gym long before Genesis took over ownership. Genesis has done a great job in maintaining equipment and keeping a clean facility to work out in. Meagan is very friendly and helpful. Always greets the members with a smile and positive words. Keep up the good work!

This is a good, clean gym with lots of equipment, but there are some downsides:There is no guest program, so unless your gym partner(s) are willing to spend ~ $40 a month you'll just have to go by yourself, which is no fun. Or they will have to spend $15 for a day pass.The atmosphere can be kind of intimidating because most people at this gym are very seasoned lifters, athletes, or models. This somewhat applies to any gym but at the other gyms I've been too (Fazeek, planet fitness, Fieldhouse etc...) I have not felt nearly as out of place.

Great gym. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent variety of equipment and free weights. With COVID-19 they do a great job at making you feel safe to workout again. Very clean location staff works hard to ensure surfaces and equipment are sanitized throughout the day.

Awesome place to exercise

There are many aspects to look at when reviewing this gym. I was fortunate to have been grandfathered in from my old 24 hour fitness days, so there have been no fees or changes in my rate since the switch to Genesis. I know the start up fee is sometimes waived or reduced with promotions but the thing to me that's a hard sell about Genesis is I hear it's a 3 year commitment. Regardless, there are many joining. With most if not all gyms, there are start up fees. With Planet Fitness, for example, they charge you a startup fee every year regardless of whether or not you cancel, which I've never understood.As far as this particular Genesis location is concerned, it inherited the old Gold's Gym hours, so it is not open 24 hours a day like the Genesis on 39th Street in Independence. It's much more spaced out than what I was used to, which is a good thing. It's a very large gym with a lot of equipment. The contract/monthly payment aside, I can't see anyone not enjoying their workout here as long as they can get there before 11. I primarily go to the location in Independence because I'm a night owl.
