I joined this gym back in December of 2018. It's within walking distance of my house and they offer childcare with a small additional fee. The gym it's self is good and the staff members are very friendly. However my complaint is with the childcare facility. My son is 18 months old and was recently bullied and hurt by another child while in their care. I'm happy I decided to cut my workout short that day to go check on my little one because just as soon as I did was when I witnessed a little boy viciously push my baby to the ground and the daycare provider claims to have saw NOTHING when I brought it to her attention. I made it my business to address the parent of that child who assaulted my son and the mother dismissed me and was very unremorseful which only made matters worse. My son was the only AFRICAN AMERICAN child who attended their childcare facility on a regular basis which leads me to believe that was the reason why he was singled out to be bullied and attacked. There were other children in their care and none of them where harmed. I was even told by other NON-BLACK parents that their children have NEVER had any problems which proves my point. My son being the only brown skin child puts an automatic target on his head. What disgusted me the most is that staff members didn't even bother to make the mother of that child apologize to me or my son. Everyone made excuses for her child who assulted my son and not once was an apology enforced from either the parent or the staff which is very sad. I cancelled my memebership because I don't feel comfortable leaving my son in their care anymore. There's a difference between "children being children" and children demonstrating HATEFUL and ABUSIVE behavior that was obviously learned within their household. The misguided anger and hostility that boy had towards my baby was UNCALLED for! My son is an infant at heart and didn't even try to fight back when attacked because he's not use to that type of behavior. If you want to go to this gym for a good workout? Go for it!👍 but I strongly suggest if you're BLACK please DO NOT LEAVE YOU'RE CHILD IN THEIR CARE unless your little one is old enough to TALK and tell you what's going on and is capable of defending themselves.Have a Blessed Day.

I’ve been going here since September. Three days ago I decided to try the new 24hour Fitness that just opened at the World Trade Center, since everybody were talking about how new and cool it is. New is not always better, yes Golds Gym is kinda falling apart and it needs renovation, but for me personally it’s much better, I didn’t find anything new in 24hour fitness to made me trade it! I would say more, if Golds Gym will do some changes, I think more people will come back.

A great value gym with a huge floor of weights, machines, and cardio equipment. It says something about the crowd that there are something like six squat racks and on occasion all of them are full! The crowd is pretty friendly, willing to lend a hand for a spot if needed. The space feels a little dinged up in places, but for the most part it feels relaxed.

Not too happy with this place. I called because I get silver sneakers membership through Medicare, no I'm not a senior as there other ways you get this, and I was in a hurry but was right there with a little time to kill. The guy said come in, it'll take 4 to ten minutes, now was a good time to come in. I knew the 4 was a joke obviously and I told him I'm right down the street just a couple blocks away, I'll be in right now. I got there, told the reception girl that I just called and spoke who a guy who said.... Etc etc blah blah (told her what happened). She had me fill out some waiver she called it on the computer, I didn't see any waiver though, but could have missed it, and just asked me for address phone number email personal info. She said have a seat and someone will be with you. I sat, and sat, and sat.. and went back to to remind her what the guy told me and that he said now was a good time, etc etc. She said have a seat...I sat and sat and sat some more... Keep in mind he knew I was literally a couple blocks away and was coming right now and said up to ten minutes... And sat and sat and as the reception girl talked and talked and talked to multiple employees, some of which was personal, the rest I couldn't hear, I sat waiting and waiting. Now my time was almost up, actually it was way over the time I had which is why I told the guy initially that I did not have a lot of time and had another appt, was now good time, I even told both it was for silver sneakers membership ... And that perhaps was my mistake! That's a free for me membership so probably insurance low balled them in what they would pay them so I was essentially little$$so who gives a ***k, just let me rot, maybe I'll leave on my own they probably thought, and so I did. Besides, now I'm going to be late for my next appointment.... I will not be going there ever again and recommending to anyone who will listen that they not go there either but should go to one of the many say nicer gyms with staff that is so much nicer, way faster, way more professional, way more accommodating, with way more amenities and a ton more to offer ANY kind of membership.

Friendly staff. Here from out of town and the people at the front desk are great. Equipment wise there’s everything I need for a workout. Pretty cool they have straight and EZ-curl bars from 5-110ish at 5 lb intervals. Cleanly as well.
