Great coaches, cool teammates, and a welcoming environment. I was visiting from out of town and stopped by for a class and I’m sure glad I did. They made me feel like I was right at home. Everyone was welcoming, on and off the mat. If I lived in Louisville this would be the place I would train at. I will definitely be back to visit next time I’m in the area.

I have trained with the owner and BJJ black belt Phil Perkins for many years. The passion for the art and the sport is shown in the quality of training and atmosphere at the gym. The best part is you don't have to fight or compete to get top level competition training.

Visited from New York for the 4th of July weekend. My brother trains here and always told me about how great of a gym it was. Now that I’ve personally experienced it I got to say he wasn’t lying. From the mats and bags to the “jungle gym” with everything you may need for weightlifting, this is the place to train if you’re visiting Louisville. Highly recommended.

As an athlete, there is no better place to train in the city. I’ve spent my whole life with coaches, and Area 502 has some of the best. Whether you want to get in shape, learn self defense, or even compete at any level, I recommend this gym. Everything from fitness to muy Thai- they got it.

My kids and I have been training here over a couple years. Show up and follow instructions - the coaches will get you in fit and fighting condition. Facility is clean and professional. Atmosphere is positive (though appropriately rough and tough during training) and a "like family" team dynamic. Builds me up.
