My son Vignesh enjoys going to MAFA, very knowledgeable teachers and very friendly environment

I was a student here for about 3 years here and i have to say, the instructors are VERY motivating and teach all the right stuff. this place would be great to go to if your young child wanted to learn self defense. they teach about 1st to 2nd grade age up to Adults. I do reccomend!

Martial Art Fitness Academy is the premier martial arts studio in this area. It has proven to be a positive, fun, and caring environment for all ages. The student to instructor ratio is phenomenal and the program is run with integrity and honesty. The instructors take a personal interest in the physical, emotional, and intellectual growth of their students. Mr. Omar and Mr. Joe have so much passion for the practice of martial arts and you can’t help but feel the same way when you walk in the doors. They have created a positive environment for both kids and adults and I have been completely thrilled with our experience here.

I cannot say enough good things about this school, its program, or the eagerness with which they foster a sense of community.  We took our time finding the right program for our daughter, hoping to find a needle in a haystack; an independent program not beholden to any national and ethically questionable association that also teaches the forms, arts and skills that both match our daughter's interests and provide her tools with which to work should she ever need to leverage her knowledge against a larger and stronger opponent.  MAFA has both in spades, and even if they didn't, they take such a genuine interest in their pupils and their family, that it's impossible to have any regrets about signing up.  They take the time to focus on developing physical, mental and spiritual growth, but what sets them apart is how fun and positive they make the experience. The more focused and interested our daughter becomes in Kuk Sool and MAFA, the more focused and interested they become in seeing her succeed.  Mr. Omar and Mr. Joe are natural, thoughtful leaders, but more than that, I have not seen a single instructor ever go through the motions or give anything less than their most vigorous and positive effort.  Attend just a few classes, and your family will truly feel like a part of the MAFA community.  My daughter will tell you she's learning joint locks, pressure points, punches, kicks, and nun-chucks - but it really is so much more than that.  The prices are reasonable, but the return on that investment, both money and time, yields substantially more than what you put in.  And to top it off, my nine year old is basically a ninja at this point ;-)

It used to be good when Mr. Garrison and Mr. Joe was there but now the new management is horrible. Stay away.

I normally don't write reviews but want to share a bad experience we had. The good reviews are all true until few months back, they don't apply now. My son has been going to MAFA since he was 4 for 2 years now and he really liked it but from the past few months he was complaining about how rude Mr.Omar is and did not want to go. I did check with few others and their kids expressed the same concern too. We personally saw he was a bit rude and very bossy with Mr.Garrison and few other instructors at belt ceremony. I was skeptical initially to continue or not but after observing him teaching the classes for a few days we quit. It is no longer a best place. All I can say is stay away if you care for your kid.

My son has been going to Martial Arts Fitness Academy for 17 months. Started as a 4 year old. He loves it! I love the change it has made in his life. He went from being shy and timid to being able to hold his head high and speak with confidence. He will now try new things, head on. He even encourages others to be brave and to keep trying when they give up on something. He has learned so much and is looking forward to advancing further with his belt ranks and personal goals. Mr. Garrison has been there with him through this journey and we are thankful to him for being so patient and caring.
