Pivotal Fitness - Park West

This gym is amazing, I’ve been going to PF Parkwest for the past year and it’s been amazing. From the kindness of the staff to the clean/ well quality equipment, I’ve been enabled to have all my workouts be amazing. I could not do it without this awesome gym! And the 24 hour perk makes it so much better!

This is a great facility that can meet the needs of most anyone from serious fitness people & weight lifters, to more casual but health conscious people, to someone just starting out with their personal fitness & learning about it. I tried this place out for the 1st time this morning & received awesome service from Craig who made me feel very welcome. Whether you live here or are just here on vacation & need a gym, I recommend this one. Due to the great facilities & customer service, this is my new gym.

Since Pivotal took over the gym, everything has improved. Staff is great and friendly, layout is better with more open space, and there is also additional equipment. Highly recommend!

In December of 2020 the staff was constantly contacting me about a renewal for my Paid in Full membership. Ok great they gave me a good deal on the rate and moved on. Then get an email from Michelle Berrard the CEO of Pivotal saying how exciting she was to close down the Johnnie Dodds location and funneling everyone to the renovated Park West location. Sorry but that is of no value to me living 1.5 miles from the location they just closed. Oh and great combine two locations and 2x the people during a COVID pandemic. It was never mentioned as they pushed me to renew and provided i think one weeks notice of this change. Horrible communication.I was told a refund would be issued back on Jan 26 allow for 7-10 business days.  OK no problem. Its now March 3rd making it 26 business days and still no refund in my account.First I was told it was issued then got an email showing the refund was not even entered into the system until 2/12 two weeks past when I requested the refund. Its now March 3rd with no refundFrom the very start of finding out the gym was closing till now, Pivotal has provided me with a horrible customer experience.

Best Pivotal location I have visited in Charleston! They offer a variety of classes throughout the day that are led by some of the most talented instructors I have come across, and they also offer daycare! I travel 45 minutes to get to this gym because it's worth it!!!

rude and unprofessional management makes this chain of gyms awful to deal with and unfortunately something WILL go wrong with their billing where you’ll need to utilize their customer service - which is relatively non existent. the company gives zero capabilities to the on-site manager and everything will need to go to the regional which will take weeks to process apparently.they abruptly shut down their best location in mount pleasant giving us one day notice - including their employees there!! fired them with one day notice. they don’t care to help you when they mess up and they’ve been awful to work with. i’ve been trying to cancel my membership for an entire month now and was finally given the regional managers email when they charged me anyways - who refuses to actually do his job and take care of this in a timely manner. just awful

I am writing this review for the Park West location because the other Mount Pleasant location was shut down abruptly, so that review would likely be taken down.I don't normally write reviews, but this was a pretty terrible experience with a company in terms of shadiness. I took a tour of the main Mount Pleasant location TWO WEEKS ago and decided to join because it is about a mile from my house. I show up today and it is completely closed. Maybe this should have been mentioned during my tour?I paid $70 up front and just called about a refund as I was only able to go about 6 times since joining and Park West is very out of my way. The person said they could put in a "refund request". What a joke. Terrible way to handle new potential customers. Maybe if it was handled better I would start going to the Park West location.Poorly handled, especially with everything that's going on right now. I am sure there are many other upset members from the other location. Would not recommend this company at all.

Very professional gym with great communication throughout the whole staff. Colin, one of the front desk employees is great at helping new clientele who walk through the door and makes sure to keep the place clean and well kept. Doing this all on a respectable and timely manner.

I have been a member to several gyms, but no other holds a candle to this one! There is tons of space, separate workout rooms, tons of equipment, and even a track upstairs if you don’t feel like using the treadmill. The new AC pumps and the fans throughout really help to circulate the air. I can’t say enough great things about the friendly staff..it’s hard to find good customer service anywhere these days-but I have not met a single staff member who is not smiling and welcoming! The child care is absolutely amazing and our kids look forward to it everyday. We are truly treated like family! I would recommend this gym to everyone!!

Pivotal- I would highly suggest getting the AC issue addressed prior to closing the deal if it’s not too late. This gym is 85 degrees in the summer even with all the fans running because the HVAC system can’t keep it cool and needs replacing. No exaggeration- I have pictures. I complained numerous times to management off the record regarding the unsafe working out conditions and don’t know if it was ever addressed since it was fall and now winter and temperatures have dropped. I’m looking forward to the positive changes :)
