What is this planet fitness?! No grunting? The second I step in the door he's interrogating me and inspecting my gear? Also its very small and limited equipment options! Stay away!

Locked out for no particular reason ,followed all legitimate club rules, wiped machines down. Subpar location but it's close to where I call home for now. If this location were my first glance at this chain I wouldn't join . Been to more …

This place is hidden behind a bunch of buildings, Google Maps was wrong. It was small and looked plain. They hardly had any space or lockers. I was visiting from out of town and the manager said I have to change my shoes to workout even though my shoes were clean. He seemed like a smooth sales person rather then a business owner.

After reading the reviews of the gym manager Mike, now I know that I am not the only one of my race who has been mistreated. This is the situation that happened to me.I'm out in Aurora and decided that I want to get a quick workout in before my day begins. The gym membership I have let's me workout at any of their gyms nationwide. Just so happens that the Naperville location was the closest one. So, I get there, I scan my member card at the door to gain access, and I'm walking through the gym to see where everything is. Mind you, there are about 8 people in the gym at this time. I'm also the only black person in the gym at this time too. So after checking out where all the equipment is, I go to the bathroom. As soon as I get out of the bathroom, Mike approaches me and the Conversation goes as follows:"Hi, I'm Mike."Me: "Hi, what's going on man?"Mike (With a very concerned look on his face): "Not much. Sooo what's your name?"me: "It's Sean."Mike: "Sean? Well when you scanned in today, your name popped up as Tasheen. So is it Sean or is it Tasheen?" (mind you, my name is spelled TaSean and is pronounced like Tuh-Shawn.)me: "Yes, my name is actually TaSean but I go by Sean because the Ta- tends to throw a lot of people off."Mike: "Oh I see. Well come with me to my office. I just want to ask you a few questions because your names pops up as TaSean in our system and it says you're supposed to be a woman."(We get to his office, he pulls up my profile where it clearly shows all of my previous logins and visits to other gyms where I've never had an issue)Mike: "Do you mind if I see your scan card? I'm going to call your home gym just to verify who you are."me: "No problem. But you can see all of my past visits right on the screen and my name matches my ID."Mike:" Yeah and I WANT to believe you but I just want to make sure."(He gets a hold of my home gym)Mike:"Yeah hello? Hey this is Mike from the Naperville location. Yeah I just want to check one of your members real quick. ok. yeah. So his name is TaSean Jackson. His account number is ********. ok. And is this person a man or a woman? You know I just need to make sure with this active shooter in Naperville. I mean sure he seems like a nice guy. Okay, cool thank you sir."(He hangs up the phone and is now facing me)Mike: "Okay so your gym put you in the clear, but you don't have a picture on your account so just letting you know we could have kicked you out."(our interaction ends, so I walk around the gym and decided to give my home gym a call to get their take on it.)Mike: "Thanks for calling Anytime in Westchester, this is Mo"me: "Hey Mo this is TaSean. Just had a quick question for you. Does my account say that I'm a woman?? because the guy here is trying to use that as a reason to stop me and ask questions."Home gym: "No man. Your account doesn't say anything about you being a woman. There just isn't a photo of you so we'll just take care of that when you get back."I do honestly feel I was mistreated and honestly, it's way too late in 2018 to be treating people this way.

I was told I would be "locked" out of the gym because you are not allowed to wear ANY "outside" shoes in the gym. That includes, new, CLEAN, gym shoes from the walk to your car to the front door! Its a gym! The other reviews are correct, "stay away."EDIT: just found out if this is not your HOME gym, Mike makes a point to find a reason to kick you out! I hope someone addresses this issue.

My finance and I go to a few anytime's around the area so this is not my home club not that, that should matter but after reading these reviews I am even more horrified as to how this guy is still involved in this franchise. We had gone to this one a few times as it is on my way home from work and never had any issues until the day we walked in and one of our fobs didn't read. This little man started yelling from the middle of the gym at us asking what was going on and who we were and what we were doing. I was appalled and embarrassed that he was making a scene in front of all of these people. He then proceeded to make us both go back out and retry our fobs. We did and they worked. He then would not let us in the door because of this ridiculous shoe rule. He was so in our face about it and yelling. Honestly he seemed like he was on some sort of drugs because of how manic he was acting. He then proceeded to ask me about my shoes and if they were dirty, I said no but that was not good enough. He then grabbed my leg and lifted my foot, whipping the bottom of my shoe with his hand. Mind you, I am about to snap because you don't just go touching people you don't know... He then puts my leg back down and asks that I not wear my outside shoes in the gym again but that I can work out. I asked him if he wanted to check my other foot and sure as Ill get out, he DID! I could not believe this. I have never in my life nor could I imaging acting like that.... so fast forward a couple of days we go back and I am terrified to even go in. He wasn't there thank god! So fast forward a few weeks as I was avoiding going to this gym because of that maniac. I go to use my fob and it doesn't work. Guy won't let me in. My finance calls Mike to find out what the deal was... he revoked our memberships there so we cannot use that facility again. He said because we wore our outside shoes in to the gym we could not go back.So if you guys want to go to a drama filled gym, that isn't even that nice go here. If you want to be harassed and touched inappropriately go here. This place is a joke. Not even a nice gym like FFC or lifetime has crazy rules like this. And they are way nicer than this place. Needless to say if the franchise wants to support a business owner that does this or conducts business like this, we are cancelling all together. I don't care if I have to pay fees I would rather do that then step foot in another Anytime.

I’ll stick to my home gym. Made it about 3 feet in the door, gym bag on my shoulder and all, and was immediately harassed because I wasn’t wearing my workout shoes. I’ve never been to a gym where I couldn’t change into my gym shoes (IN THE GYM BAG I AM HOLDING) in the locker/changing room. It’s no wonder this gym looked dead. The owner was abrasive and rude. You really shouldn’t be scaring clients away seconds after they walk in.

I'm away from home a lot joined anytime for my health and so I have something constructive to do after work. I was told I was slamming the weights down to hard so I complied without arguing, then minutes later comes the interrogation where you from what's your home gym felt like I was being followed around like at work by a supervisor trying to catch you doing something wrong. My partner from work went he got an email from Mike wanting to explain the rules been in the anytimes enough should probably know by now. Don't worry psycho Mike won't invade your gym ever again..

The club is never crowded, is very clean and staffed by excellent trainers. You must change into clean shoes when you enter, not lift weights that are too heavy and slam them down, and not groan and grunt when working out. The members are polite and respectful and the owner is a terrific guy. This place is a gem.
