We have been going to Kobukan for at least 3 years now since I started my oldest daughter in karate. Since then I have joined the adult Jiu Jitsu and lost lots of weight along with an overall life changing experience. Now my youngest daughter has begun jiu jitsu and I am more than happy with my experience here!!!

My son has enjoyed his classes here. You can tell the instructors take pride in there instruction, as well as their students. The place is clean and the kids always have a good time.

I’ve been doing BJJ here for the past 5 months and I love it. The instructor Mr. Ron is super Knowledgeable. The class times are good for people that have full time jobs. One of the best workouts I’ve ever had in my life.

I have visit the Kobukan Martial Arts Academy leading by Mr (sensei) Ron for two weeks.I was deeply impressed. The profound and comprehensive understanding of karate together with the ability to bring it in a simple and understandable way was extraordinary. It was wonderful to see, understand and practice how each hand movement is accompanied by body movement (pelvis, legs), to study the previous movement and options for future movements. The academy has excellent coaches that follows Mr Ron spirit, With kids and adults.Highly recommend

My experience was wonderful. When I entered the building, a little confused and unsure where to head to sign up for the kickboxing class I was met by a smiling and VERY friendly gentleman who helped me through the (very easy) steps. I was then led to the kickboxing area and introduced to the instructor who was very helpful, calm, and patient (which is great, because I lack any level of graceful). She took as much time as I needed and redid moves as many times as I needed to get it right. What a great experience, a GREAT workout, and a wonderful team. I will absolutely be returning!

My wife and I were looking for a good place for our 9 year old to start karate. By luck we discovered Kobukan nearby. We were even more fortunate to discover that Mr. Ron is here. Many years ago our older daughter ( Our kids are 15 years apart) took karate under him through a different organization. While she didn't stick with it, he and his instructors made a huge impression on us and her. Just amazing with the kids. Nothing has changed after all these years. They are firm when they need to be, attentive and always entertaining. My son was nervous about going but was immediately ready to sign up after his free introduction. One lesson has already been a huge confidence booster for him. Proof that he is capable of doing anything with no need for fear. Definitely a family oriented place. You can't go wrong with them. We're very happy and honored to have our son learn and grow with Mr Ron and the Kobukan family.

One of the things I love about this dojo is that Mr. Ron and his team have high expectations for the kids. He's direct with them and clear on what he requires. The students learn discipline and have to earn their belts and stripes. There are no hand-outs. In addition, my daughter is only a yellow belt but she knows how to punch, kick, and block and her punches and kicks actually hurt :). If she needed to defend herself, I feel that she is much better equipped. In addition, Mr. Ron hosts events like holiday parties and parents' night out that help to foster more of a community feeling. We've truly enjoyed being a part of this dojo.

I had an amazing experience training there during the summer. As someone with a Muay Thai and Sayoc Kali background, I usually notice how few women participate in the martial arts; however, I was delighted to find a whole Brazilian JiuJitsu class for women (10-12 on average). Even during the regular co-ed classes, the women outnumber the men. It was a very empowering experience to train with other women of all different backgrounds, body types, and ages. It just goes to show how Brazilian JiuJitsu adapts to who is using it.Furthermore, the owner, Mr.Ron, is such an amazing professor in Brazilian JiuJitsu. He urges his students to think outside of the box with the techniques we learn, instead of just sticking to a cookie cutter mold that may not work for someone depending on how small they are or if they have prior injuries. He helps expand our world of Brazilian JiuJitsu instead of limiting it like how some teachers do.Also, the kickboxing class also earned an A+. As someone who already knew a lot of techniques but was not strong at applying them, this was a great class. We would work on the heavy bag for 30 minutes, rotating through different combinations, then we would do 15 minutes of strength training. By working on the heavy bags, I got more comfortable with trying variations on different combinations to make them run more smoothly.Overall, I had an amazing summer training there. I would continue my training there, but I had to go back to college. I most definitely will train there again on breaks.

My son walked in determined not to take martial arts. No problem. He fell in love with with kickboxing!! A place to consider if your child feels lost without hand controllers. Social skills, check. Manners, check. Physical activity, check. I'm good with Kobukan.

Love this dojo. We have been going for almost two years. Awesome team of knowledgeable and committed instructors. My son has truly prospered in jui jitsu and self esteem! Very kind hearted owners who make the whole family feel welcomed. They continue to grow and expand making it even better!
