The instructors are top notch and treat their students with respect while providing an introduction to the Japanese martial art of karate. They exercise great patience, while expecting their students to make progress up the ladder of different colored belts. Highly recommended!

Kobukan Martial Arts is the place to be if you want to learn how to defend yourself and your family. After 11 years I still get excited when I walk through those doors. It is like entering an entirely different environment where everyone is your family. I love coming in making the students and parents laugh and have a good time. If you are looking for passionate, enerfetic, fun teachers this is the place for you so please come on in and become part of this great family!

I have been taking my kid here for about a month and he has learned alot. Counting in Japanese, pieces of his uniform, and most importantly he is learning more about respect and honor for others and traditions. I love that they teach the kids a code of ethics and enforce it. The instructors are great and all teach discipline. My son loves going and it's great we found it in the heart of OV. I personally recommend Kobukon to everyone.

My son has been going to Kobukan for over a month now and he loves it. He just made yellow belt and has been really enjoying the yellow belt classes. All of the instructors here are awesome and know how to interact and be patient with kids. They're not just teaching karate moves here, they are teaching discipline, respect and self defense. My son is only 6, but I hope he continues on liking karate so he can keep going to Kobukan.

My son began karate slightly later than others, but had a great experience. If we wouldn't have to move, he would continue on with Kobukan. The instructors are honest and well-accomplished. They assist their students when necessary and tell them the honest truth. They teach their students how to be respectful and demonstrate respect, and expect no less from the students too. If disrespect is demonstrated, it's acknowledged and the students are very quick to improve their respect. Kobukan is a great family friendly environment and an excellent learning experience for all that attend.

My 8 yr old son loves coming to Kobukan for Karate classes. He loves all the different instructors and learning new movements. He asks every day when his next class is then once there asks constant when class will start since we always seem to be there early. I am happy that my son is learning and paying attention which is an issue we have in school and at home so to see him take a huge interest and want to continue is a big deal for us. if your not sure about a class come in sit and watch or ask to try a class.

This gym has a great Jiu Jitsu teacher Ron, chill vibes and is the best place the local area. Also it is close to the Naval base if you are stationed there. Kobukan has a lot of potential to grow and is a great place to train for anyone at any skill level.My background: Wrestler, coach, Blue belt in jiu jitsu, I have trained at many different gyms and can tell which ones are good.

Our daughter started with Mr. Ron when she was in 3rd grade and had recently transitioned to a new school when a flyer came home and we gave it a try, we have since followed him to 2 different locations over the past 5 1/2 years. She started as a white belt and is now working on her blue belt, ranks are not given...they are earned and for that we are forever grateful! She has learned discipline, self confidence, motivation, and healthy fear. She has gained trust, friends, and pride in what she has accomplished. As a family, we are very committed to our two days a week and after hours work to ensure our daughter's goals in becoming a black belt under Mr. Ron's leadership are met! Best investment we have ever made, the Dojo speaks for itself..give it a try!

Kobukan Martial Arts have successfully integrated the spirit of karate with adaptive fun and play. We started our child with a trail period to check things out. In addition to instruction of self-defense technique, we found the teaching to include life-lessons, self confidence and social balance. I am very pleased to have found Kobukan.

My son has been instructed by Mr. Ron since he was six or seven and I couldn't have asked for a better instructor and mentor. My son has learned so much from him and holds Mr. Ron in such high regards. I definitely recommend Kobukan as the number one choice for martial arts.
