i wanted to try the gym out because it’s closer than vasa and saw the free trial online. went in to get it started…. left with the most expensive membership and no free trial, and personal training i couldn’t afford. i explicitly told them i couldn’t afford personal training as i am a college student, so they told me i could do a trial class. one day later the contract was emailed to me and i looked it over, they lied to me and i had been signed up for weekly sessions costing over $100/ week. instantly called and was told the manager wasn’t there, in fact the manager was never there when i called until i pretended to be a different person. i contacted them within the allotted time to cancel and they tried to tell me just to try it out, kept telling them no and Rye hung the phone up on me. eventually i had my dad call and threaten to go to cooperate and suddenly they were a lot nicer and cancelled it immediately. went back to vasa the next day

I haven’t worked out here yet, and I’m not sure I want to with the experience I had. Online it said that they have a free trial. I wanted to try it out before I committed. I was convinced to get a membership which I wanted so I wasn’t too upset about it. However, the person helping me Rye tried to bully me into getting personal training. I told him it was something I couldn’t afford and he kept pushing, saying things like “ you’re breaking my heart” and “don’t you want to reach your health goals?” This was really upsetting to me because I was already nervous to go to the gym because I am overweight. I felt like he played into my insecurities and tried to guilt me into getting personal training.

I get it’s a cheap monthly membership but they are charging $20 if you just want to go 1 time; I wouldn’t pay that on principle alone and now I’d NEVER consider a membership bc staff was so rude; now I remember why I cancelled my membership a few yrs back…People like to attend different gyms for different offerings, locations, gym buddies, programming, etc. You really should consider a punch pass, $5 1hr pass, etc; not all of us like being locked into anything.
