I've been going to this gym in this location since it was Gold's Gym over 20 years ago. 24 Hour Fitness has been a great gym for years but in the past few months as it opened back up the music has turned into speed metal and death metal and other things that most of the people who work out there don't like. I've had multiple conversations with different folks working out and they just turn their own music up even higher in their headphones and earbuds. I mentioned this to the staff but they brush it off and say they can't do anything about it it's the management that decides. If you listen to your own music or don't like speed metal and other kinds of Hardcore music than this is probably not your gym and maybe you might like a different 24 Hour Fitness or some other gym better.12/18/2021 update - with COVID Omicron rapid accelerating one would think 24 Hour staff would be paying more attention. Yet again this morning I saw someone working out for an extended amount of time in the cardio area with his mask completely pulled below his chin. There is no excuse for this continuing gross lapse in judgement and management responsibility.

I’m told her name was Muriel and she is the manager at this location. Upon first walking in, she looked at me then turned away and stood in the corner behind the desk for a few minutes while I stood there waiting for her to finally pay attention. She then proceeds to treat me as if I do not belong in this gym. I can only assume because I am black and told her my brother gave me a pass because he works in the Gresham location.. this is “the pearl” location but is obviously lacking in customer service and professionalism. Honey I may be black, but I’m also the member and YOU are the help. Also the sauna+steam rooms are in the pool area which are NOT connected to the locker rooms and allow both men and women. Not a fan.

There is a basketball court but no basketballs. There is a pool with two lanes but it’s booked before you get there. It’s basic equipment that’s fine. The mask helps with the smell.

Awesome staff. Most expansive set of equipment out of all the local 24 Hours. And, if it's crowded, it's jam-packed full of 10's. Thus turning what would be a burden into an advantage. Plus, it totally serves as inspiration. Unless you're working out for health reasons. In which case, go ahead and redirect yourself to the Mall 205 24. And don't come back til your a 10!👋🏻

Whoever hung this punching bag clearly has no idea how to box or properly use a punching bag considering they've given the puncher zero room to move.it would be nice if the owners and furnishers of the gym had more experience and insight on using their equipment beyond DIY knowledge

I was kicked out of 24 hour fitness by the woman working front desk at 11:40am... I've canceled my membership with plans to return when y'alls Fear and Body Inconfidence is worked through in y'alls mindsets... but due to this lady who was WAY BEYOND THE PALE kicked me out for wearing the mask I bought at 24 hour fitness in Orchards Washington... For that I'm Resuming My Membership at LA Fitness...And Yes... IT'S JUST FOR PERSONAL SPITE...KEEP HATING 24 FITNESS STAFF...JOB SECURITY IS NOTHING TO WORRY WHEN Y'ALL ARE SCARED TO BREATHE FRESH AIR...😅... GET A BUBBLE AND DO BURPEES IN THERE!

Yesterday while l was working out with my friend and showing him my exercise routine, the head trainer Zeena Aqel aggressively approached me and told me to stop training him or else she will ban me from the club. After speaking with her manager and explaining that l was with a friend and not a client, Zeena proceeded to make rude comments about my country (l am visiting Portland for few days) and other personal attacks towards me. Her manager was kind enough to diffuse the situation, but now l feel very uncomfortable and personally threatened by her behavior and l would NEVER step foot i to another 24 Hour Fitness. I don’t understand how someone like her is allowed to work with people if she can’t tell the difference between a trainer and a regular guy, and if she threatens and insults members in such manner.

Rude and unhelpful front desk. Was a member here years ago. recently moved back to Portland and got a trial pass to try the club. Even though there were no restrictions on the pass they said because I had been to the club before and had been a member years ago I wasn’t a new member and couldn’t use the pass even though I’d driven all the way in and had already communicated this to the woman who called me after I signed up for the pass. I would have probably joined this gym but because of the terrible customer service (and unfriendly) It’d be the last place I’d go at this point.

Since they've reopened(due to the pandemic) I've noticed the staff going above and beyond to make sure everyone is wearing a mask and wiping down all the equipment. I've never felt at risk, and often question if vanity is worth risking my health for while there's a virus spreading. Plus, this gym being located in the prestigious Pearl District, there is plenty of eye candy to motivate you to stick to your routine!
