This is a solid gym. COVID has limited some of the "extras" that some gyms offer, but there is a basketball court and pool that remains open. The equipment is is good shape, plenty of space, and the members seem to respect mask mandates. Some items like the water fountains and shower spaces could use cleaning/updates. But the staff is friendly and it is conviently located for biking around the city.

Wish it was still open... 24 hours. Those of us who don’t work 9-5 Mon-Fri enjoyed the option to go to 24 hour fitness at any of the 24 hours of the day.

I work out here 3-4 a week here , because it was close to my work . I I always have problem sign in because of my nail so the clerk always ask me my name and log me in after I failed a few attempts. Today . After m 4 attempts I am not able to sign in and was ask for my driver licence. I though that was odd, so I ask the manager if it is there protocol to ask people to present the driver licence. It should apply to all races ( peoples). I saw many others people have the problem sign in and no one were asked for driver licences

Machines are in overall poor shape. Treadmills will sometimes stop mid workout, a leg press machine belt once snapped while I was using it...not to mention the gym isn’t even open 24 hours any more. Overall customer service is a low priority here.

A sports gym in transition so it seems. Healthy and mixed gender membership but management needs to step up and become more visible and involved in the day-to-day operations. Things are left broken too long. Nice basketball court and lap pool. The locker rooms need a remodeling effort. Why are there no gender neutral bathrooms? The curtain is off the former juice bar area but customer service can be slow and overwelmed behind the counter. Kaia (sp?) is the exception most days. She is very kind with a great smile. No sure about the yoga classes they offer upstairs...whoever leads that team is too humble. Good selection of weight lifting machines. There's other areas with cool stuff like ropes and bars that I haven't tried yet. Wet area has a nice jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. It's lightly patroled by staff hence the basketball shoes in the steam room problem. Men's locker room can get crowded but rarely chatty. If you are looking for a friendly social club this might not be the best place. I've been a member for a year and am rarely approached by other members for conversation. The Pearl is one of Portland's better inner city neighborhoods (Lotta of yuppies.) Parking could pose challenges for some -- there seems to always be cars waiting for a space.

I wish the women's lockers in the swim area and the steam room could be scrubbed down better. Like Downtown 24 hr, they really need someone with interior design skills to put hooks and other amenities where they should be, e.g., at Pearl, should you have to walk around someone taking a shower after you've already changed back to your street clothes? Otherwise, they have a nice selection of yoga classes, steam and dry sauna, jacuzzi and lots of customers.

I work at this gym in the pearl. Love love love the department I work in (Kids Club). I adore all the kids that come to the gym. So loving and warming!**The trainers, specially Emily the trainer (NOT THE ASSISTANT MANAGER), is very over the top and thinks she knows it all. She is not a manager or even in my department but trying to tell me the rules and what to do. Attitude adjustment or she’s gonna have a hard time finding more friends/people to train! My boyfriend is a owner of a gym/trainer/coach and it’s not an easy industry if that’s where you want to pursue a career in. Be humble, kind and smile...don’t think you know everything and have an attitude about it! **

This is my gym when I need a workout while working in the Portland Pearl area. The parking is usually quick and it has all kinds of great equipment.

Tried doing a 3 day trial and they muscles me (heh) into signing a contract before working out. Had to call later and cancel. Maybe I would have joined if they weren’t pushy

This gym has some of the best workout classes for all of the locations. I would keep my membership specifically for the Hip Hop class with Mari. Gym equipment is solid for other workouts otherwise.
