Big gym with lots of routes.. however their holds could really use a clean. LOTS of chalk build up on them which obviously makes them slippery and hard to hold on to. I only was able to find one brush in the whole bouldering area to use to clean my routes.

Awesome gym with friendly staff and great route-setting. They also do a good job keeping the climbing holds and the facilities very clean. Love the sauna!

I go to the Alaska Rock Gym regularly, but decided on a trip to Reno I'd go here. I was only there for two hours, but I really liked the amount of routes that were available. They also had signs up that referenced genders other than m/f for the locker room, that was nice to see!

Price is definitely the highest in Reno, especially for a membership. Both Basecamp and North Peak offer more affordable memberships.However! Mesa has it all. All the amenities, a shiny and new fantastic facility with a TON of top rope, lead, AND boulder options. The tallest indoor walls by FAR. If you want a ton of variety, and price isn't an issue, Mesa may be your gym.Another plus, is they are the only climbing gym open before 8am.I appreciate the punch pass option, since I am a Basecamp member, but I appreciate the wide variety of Mesa on occasion!

Mesa Rim is a fantastic climbing gym. It features high walls for top roping as a purpose build building. The route setting is community influenced so closer to outside ratings than most gyms. I would highly recommend it to anyone local or passing thru. Plenty of bouldering as well.
