Great pool, I was swimming there during th summer for 5$ drop in per session but now they require non university members to find a sponsor who is a member otherwise you can't use the facilities

Here from UMiami and used a day pass with my girl who did undergrad here. The water fountains here taste terrible. Thats beyond tap water. Like a land slide or something contaminated the water source.

Update:They now have mask station at the entrance.Great facility with great equipments and everything but, but they have a mask requirement for all other people when their own student staff walk around with the masks down. Also they don't have mask station over here as well.

The gym is very good. It would have been better if there is a proper schedule. Everytime they go out of schedule, the reason is due to 'special event'. Surprisingly, there will be no one at such events. Nice work guys. Hope you could let us know the actual reason / make up some better reasons. For sports like basket ball/ badminton all the courts will not be setup, no proper equipment etc. The reason will be 'it was broken'. Funny thing is happened overnight, when the gym is closed. So if you are lucky you might witness some supernatural incidents. Also you will witness some changes in policies for certain individuals (discrimination), I've personally faced it. By the way, not everyone of the working students are like this.Overall SJSU gym for workouts is very good.

Very spacious, lots of equipment, not too busy, pretty much your ideal gym apart from the staff.I have had a very poor experience with them. They love to single/discriminate against certain individuals about the mask policy. A worker there has told me to put my mask up which is fine but then later in my gym session I saw him with his own mask down. I feel targeted at this gym. I see people working out at the benches all with their masks down but the staff are either too afraid or are too passionate about targeting me when I'm alone in my own space. I have not once seen staff tell others to put their masks up. Staff members had a nasty attitude and appeared very arrogant while threatening to kick me out and boast about constantly having vision of me (likely the camera). Absolute vile staff who love to single people out. Disgusting. Stay away from this place.

This place is great. They used to offer memberships to the public, hopefully they resume that policy soon. They have many squat racks, plenty of bench presses, plenty of cardio machines, several excellent pools, an indoor running track, and a climbing wall. The staff who work the front desk are students and only vaguely familiar with anything outside of their immediate job duties, but that's okay. The facility is excellent! It's great to have a climbing wall, climbing walls are pretty unusual for a gym. Love it!

Amazing place for students of SJSU. They have swimming pool, basket ball, badminton , gym and a lot more activities which are very well managed by the student union.I go almost every day there and have faced no issues till date.To be honest I never thought this facility would be so good.Go spartans !!

I played basketball last weekend here. The new floor is amazing! I bought a day pass which is 15$. The pass should give you full access of the facility including working out equipment, pool and basketball courts. The place is big and the air doesn't smell so sweaty as other gyms I've been to. The day pass is a little much for me since I only play basketball for 2 hours... It might be a good bargain for people with a lot energy. There's parking near the facility, but the space is very limited. Street parking might be needed.. but be careful of the restrictions!

In A Nutshell:-The brand-new $130 million Spartan Recreation and Aquatic Center is awesome!-The community waited for about 2 years for this place to open & it finally did right before summer 2019.-There are 3 swimming pools, which includes a 15 lane lap pool, plus diving board, a kiddie/lounge pool area & a pool w/ 4 lane lap pool plus open water swim area.-You don't feel cramped & there's a lot of room w/ plenty of outdoor sunshine.-The locker room has lockers, but I think they are reserved for the students, so just use the locker room to change & use the bathroom.-I like the expensive $10 day pass or $60 monthly (plus you need to commit to a year) which weeds out people so it doesn't get crowded.Overall, this will be my new go-to place to swim countless laps, while getting a nice tan since it's all outdoor!
