Staff was great. Good quality equipment. Clean. It was a great time. Tons of options for training. Interesting and difficult routes for advanced climbers and great learning routes for new climbers.

Pros: affordable and offers a variety of climbing styles (cracks, aretes, dihedrals) as opposed to The Front. New training area with moon boards etc is pretty cool. Quality route setting.Cons: no auto belays, fitness equipment is dated and limited, no apple pay, limited schedule for fitness & climbing classes

There was a slight misunderstanding when I was setting up my monthly pass at Momentum, at first I was reasonably frustrated, but after getting off the phone with Kevin (one of the managers) he was able to listen, identify the problem, and provide a solution that worked well for both of us. Lots of respect for Kevin. Please note though that rates for Momentum are pretty high ($80 a month) but it may be worth it during the winter months. They also have a gym you can use to work out. Be mindful, in case they forget to mention, typically there is an enrollment fee of approximately $50.

I went here for many years and loved it, but will say that as they got busier, they’re late night staff become less attentive and the cleanliness went down! The bouldering area used to be set very accurately based on level, but I feel like the setter of the last 2 years may not be familiar with what V0 - V3 are as the ones pervious! The top rope section wasn’t too shabby though and has been reset within timely enough frames to keep it fun and give you enough time to conquer you challenge routes!

I like the lead wall angles/steepness here better than the millcreek location. The cracks are awesome and now with the training boards, this place has it all. Great staff too.

We love Momentum in general, but if the Lehi location had ropes, we wouldn't come to this one. The general atmosphere feels stale, dirty, and old comparatively and the employees typically feel way less friendly. The setup of the bouldering area is decent for the tight space, but if you don't get a spot on a bench, seating gets interesting. We come in here 2-3 times a week while I'm pregnant so I can use their pregnancy harness (which I'm grateful they have), but we are met at times with an inconsistent check-in experience. Most of the time we can scan our cards & start climbing, but sometimes we have to go through the process of confirming our toddler has a waiver and checking her in too, thus wasting some of the little time we have to climb. I understand checking her in for safety & legal reasons, but the inconsistency is really frustrating and it wouldn't be too hard to find her name on their own.Lastly, I've seen some pretty sketchy belaying happening here, but we aren't allowed to help others with belaying, leaving their safety in question, which doesn't make much sense.

Sandy momentum will always be my home Gym. The bouldering area is amazing. It is small, but lots of variety. The route setters really know what they are doing. Very laid back environment, and people are very welcoming there. Great place to learn and grow as a climber.

Super solid gym. Glad to see the addition of the grasshopper and kilter boards. Has everything for a comprehensive gym climbing experience: bouldering (if slightly smaller than might be preferred), top rope, lead, crack, and fitness gear. Thoughtful setting that could be redone a little more frequently. Grades on rope routes are probably 1 or 2 letter grades softer than outside.
