Powerhouse Gym Thornton is a veteran-owned gym offering a tight-knit community atmosphere with a focus on lifting and fitness goals. Located at 4251 E 104th Ave, Thornton, CO, it is well-known for its supportive staff led by the involved co-owners Jeff and Jacqueline. Members appreciate the knowledgeable trainers and quality equipment, alongside 24/7 access, ensuring flexible workout schedules. Despite its smaller size, the gym provides a wide variety of fitness equipment and a respectful environment where the gym etiquette is generally upheld.

However, the gym’s restrictive cancellation policies and occasional customer service issues have led to some negative experiences. While the facility is praised for its cleanliness, the cancellation process requiring in-person attendance and delayed responses have been frustrating for some members. It's a suitable choice for those looking for a locally-owned, supportive gym environment, but potential members should be aware of the cancellation terms.

Careful about canceling the membership. The gym is OK. The quality of the equipment and people matches the monthly fees. As someone who works in the tech industry, I find the cancellation process crazy! I emailed multiple addresses they used to contact me in the past. I sent a Facebook message. No reply, even though I saw that they’d read it. I called the gym, and they said I had to cancel in person; there is paperwork to fill out. OK, I signed up online; they’ve even emailed me before to take a picture of my card when the old one expired. So why can’t they cancel my membership digitally? Now to the “paperwork.” I haven’t been to the gym in three months since I moved to Fort Collins. I didn’t cancel the plan because I forgot about it, which was my fault; I didn’t even bring it up when I was there. But after an hour and a half drive to the gym from Ft Collins, I find out that the paperwork is also crazy! The guy asked me for my name, pulled up my info on a screen. (Screen was facing me, so I saw a bunch of other people’s personal info too. No care to protect client’s privacy). Then they asked me to write my name again on a piece of paper, my address, the date (twice), and the reason why I needed it canceled. That’s it! And that can’t be done from an email? Oh, and I will be charged for next month’s fees too. Because by the time I got there, it was only ten dates before the next bill was due, and they needed a 30 days notice to get their cancellation affairs in order. So I guess here’s another month’s fee for “improvements” to the gym. Speaking of improvements, I wonder if they’ll charge me for the annual “ENHANCE FEE.” Which last I remembered was due at the end of the year. Can you imagine? In a world where everything is a subscription, this gym’s cancellation process is too much for a mere mortal like me to comprehend. Let me read the Netflix terms real quick to see if they also need an additional month after cancellation.

Do not sign a contract with these people. They told me there’d be no cancellation fee if I moved & when I did, they refused to even allow me to cancel the contract without coming in. Then when I did, they said I could just email them. They want $200 to cancel a contract they verbally attempt to change every time I get ahold of them. And for what it’s worth, the gym is decent at a decent price. You might as well get something better or go to Anytime Fitness.

Compared to some of the other gyms that I have been in, this gym is a GEM! In all honesty, this place is very clean and organized. The music played is nice so if you forgot your music at home, their music will do. The equipment looks VERY WELL taken care of. On a stressful day for me, this place is open for members 24/7 so I can come in at like 1AM with my member card, swipe, then there I am in work-out mode to de-stress. Did I mention clean? Most people that work outs here seems very respectful of the rules so I am definitely glad. The staff here are friendly and professional. Definitely give this place a try :)

Great environment! They have many options for machines, free weights, and cable machines. The staff are always friendly, welcoming, and open for conversation. The only downside is they don't have additional amenities such as sauna, hot tub, pool etc but it truly is the place to go if you are serious or wanting to become serious about your fitness journey!

I'll initially gave 1 star because the contractwas a little hectic to cancel however Steve (local manager) understood my issue, and he went above and beyond to assist me. Great customer service, well maintained gym and equipment, not crowded, I definitely recommend this gym. I would go here again when I can!

A day pass is $20 dollars. Definitely not that good of a gym. Small gym. Adequate equipment. I’m a gym rat and have worked out at Powerhouses all over the country. This is definitely in my top 2 of least-desirable Powerhouses to work out at.

Staff is super friendly but a huge shout out to Natasha. She cares about her clients and it definitely shows. I love when I get to work with her. And I feel welcomed each and every day I come in. Some gyms it’s so easy to be judged and here I don’t feel that way. Everyone understands that you start somewhere in this journey.

Love this gym. 24 hour access, small community vibe, and a bunch of different equipment. They recently got a leg curl and lat raise machine that let you adjust where peak resistance is (beginning, end, etc.) and it's badass. Staff is friendly, good personal trainers, and the owner Jeff is actually involved in the day to day.
