I joined this gym when it first opened, and I have seen so much dramatic growth personally and within the community. I've been to countless CrossFit gyms around the country and this hands down stands above all others. The community is so warming & clicky. Great mix of people of all skill types. The programming & regiment is challenging & focused on growth and most importantly safety. Excellent coaching. Excellent community. Excellent gym.

Can't say enough about this gym, especially the coaches and members. I've never received so much 1:1 attention from coaches/trainers. However, its not just about the amount of attention I get from them, but the quality of their feedback which is extremely specific and clearly tailored to my progress. In addition, the members here are the best. The gym is too small/civilized for cliques so everyone is cool with everyone from the newest member to the most experienced athlete. I also love that members are constantly socializing outside the gym from hiking, skiing, trips into the city, etc. making my crossfit experience more than just a gym.

Not sure where to begin!I joined HRCF last August after moving to Hoboken from the city. As a burnt out distance runner, I wanted to switch it up so I tried out another gym in town for a month, and the fit didn't feel right so I made the switch to HRCF.On my first class, I was immediately greeted by the owner and two coaches and introduced to the entire class with a hand shake and introduction from each member in my class! Now that it has been a year, I really can't believe how far I have come.Coaching - each coach has multiple years of crossfit experience as well as fitness training outside of the crossfit style. They each add their own experiences into their coaching and continuing to push me everyday. They also help suggest movements that are your weaker points to practice outside of class so you can come back and kill it next time! I mean, they really are awesome. I don't know what else to say. Also, one thing that they don't do, which I think women appreciate is give the box a "good ol boys" club feel. Women and men are definitely treated equally here.Community - I mean, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a nicer, more welcoming, close knit crossfit box community than the one at HRCF. Maybe it's because on the self selecting consequence of Crossfit in general, but everyone you encounter at the gym is more friendly, interesting, relatable and engaging than the next. I have made friends here that I trust will be life long ones! Needless to say, the community here is thee best.Facility - Because the space is on the smaller side, the class size is forced to be limited to a smaller number than most other boxes. The consequence of this becomes more one-on-one personal coaching time with two coaches on the floor at all times. As I get more advanced, I find myself wishing for some more space to practice on my own, but I find spaces to make it work!Programming - the programming is structured in a part A/ part B format.* Part A is dedicated to weight training, where members have 15 minutes to focus on a certain skill. This is personally my favorite part of class where I can work on tweaking different aspects of my core lifts, including my favorite, Olympic lifts. Coaches help drill your weak points while critiquing your overall progress throughout the 15 minutes. It's the best!* Part B is a metabolic conditioning workout that often incorporates the lift that was highlighted in part A. this is a nice way to see your hard work in part A reinforced in part B. Levels of difficulty for all levels of fitness, beginner, intermediate and advanced are highlights and coaches encourage you to go with what feels right for you. I appreciate this as opposed to having members feel inferior if they can't "RX" the workout. We are all in this together and I think everyone feels accomplished at the end of the class, regardless of the level they chose to go with.Price - a little steep but competitive with other boxes in townAll in all, if you are looking to get fit and strong while having a blast while doing it and gaining some new stellar friends along the way, HRCF is the place to be!

I've had a great experience at HRCF. The class times are convenient, everyone is extremely friendly/approachable and the coaches are very knowledgeable.I came across HRCF by accident and took a Saturday trial class. After the workout I signed up immediately. Overall the workouts are some of the best I've ever had due to their intensity. The coaches do a great job during class paying attention to form while keeping you motivated.I'd recommend this box to anyone.

Can't say enough good things about this gym. I was skeptical about the whole crossfit mentality prior to joining but my doubts were put to ease. The community is inviting, the coaches are very knowledgeable and willing to teach. Between the coaches and the members I get the push I need with out ever feeling I'm doing anything that will comprise my safety or goals. Would gladly recommend this gym to anyone whether you are curious about trying crossfit for the first time or have any number of years of exercise experience.

This box has a fantastic vibe and welcoming atmosphere. The coaches are not only knowledgable, but personable and genuinely care about every members progression and growth. Challenging programing for ALL levels of fitness, and more importantly a Crossfit community that will have you wanting to come in EVERY single day, not only to get a killer workout, but to also hangout after classes and see friends. Ability (and encouragement from staff) for members to come in outside of class times and work on weaknesses is my FAVORITE part about this gym. The coaches consistently offer genuine help and plans for individual progression if requested, no matter what level. The owner John is very fair, responsive, and involved in the community consistently looking to progress it as crossfit evolves, and keep Hudson River as happy and strong as possible.

The coaches, the community, and staff at HRCF are top notch! I have been a member here for a little under two years and absolutely love it. As a former college athlete, I find the workouts to be varied, intense, and challenging. The members of the gym are friendly, approachable and fun to be around. The class sizes are small which is nice. The coaches are fantastic—always giving you personalized attention and showing an interest in your abilities and improvements.

Out of the many CrossFit gyms I have belonged to or visited, Hudson River CrossFit is by far the best! I've been a member since they opened and couldn't be happier! The coaches are great! They are all so knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. The community is amazing. From day one I felt totally welcomed and comfortable, which is a major factor for me since I tend to be a little shy at first. HRCF has become my happy place and I would recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat!

Personable coaches, responsive staff, flexible times, what more could you want?I've been a member since February 2014 and it was first recommended to me from a friend. I've been to a couple free introduction classes from around the area but decided to start my membership here, and have been going ever since. The coaches are great and often help out with my own personal fitness goals. I feel like every class I'm learning a new cue to perfect form and improve performance. The staff is very responsive, with regards to any questions or requests with my membership, everything has been resolved the day of. They offer a variety of different times for classes and I'm able to add a workout to my morning routine before work. I would highly recommend it!
