Bear-Glasgow Family YMCA

My experience at the YMCA has been a wonderful opportunity! The staff are very nice and polite. The place is very clean and spacious. My son attended the camp at the YMCA and he had a wonderful exciting time. I would truly recommend anyone to come to this location to work out, enroll their children in the camp, go swimming, and do all of the other wonderful activities and recreational fun things that they have to offer. They are truly the BEST by far!!!!

We have been coming here for about 3 months now and our overall experience has been great, the only reason they don’t get 5 stars is for poor communication on certain things. Besides the communication problems this location services a LOT of youth activity in the gym and the pool. These a new facility been built for your extreme works it’s called the TXR Room I think!

The classes are pretty good and there are a variety of activities to choose from. The instructors are very friendly and they always encourage to five it our best shot and drive us to do better. The facility is clean and so are the shower rooms! Highly pleased and worth the cost for the whole family!!

Unfortunately I’m gonna have to rate bear y a 1. I was charged for 2 months when I didn’t cancel my membership properly. Tried explaining that my Autistic daughter was on life support during that time and had a long hospitalization. They wanted me to produce proof to put me on a payment plan for 2 months of fees. Months I was stuck at numerous hospital. I ended up at Elkton Ymca because they were so much more sympathetic. This y is about the bottom line. They don’t care about people. The other day they denied my access to their facility even though my current membership is National 🤷🏽‍♀️. It’s a nice facility but they should take the Christian out the name!!

I love the TRX and Zumba classes offered here! The facility is great, friendly staff. The Y is also one of the only gyms that offers childcare while you workout. We also recently attended a family workout class that was a lot of fun, too!

I absolutely love bear glassgow YMCA. I have had a family membership for about 4 months now and I have become addicted to the group classes and usually participate in at least 6 per week. The instructors are pretty awesome and friendly, music is great and there is a sense of belonging you get while being there and participating in the classes. I noticed a lot of people are regulars and enjoy the classes just as much as I do! I love that there are also family activities to do and events, such as when Santa was in the lobby area and there were activities for the kids to do. That event was very well organized and my family was impressed. I was glad someone was giving out cookies and milk so it wouldnt become a mad house with children grabbing as many cookies as they could and making a mess. I love that there are events with bounce houses!

The staff were terrible! Theirs a girl I believe her name starts with T. African America and was very rude. This pleace haves good potential with better staffs friendly caring staffs.

Great facility with all available equipment and different sport and fitness program for all ages. Staff is friendly and helpful. Has an indoor and outdoor pool. Only strange thing is the indoor and outdoor pool would close about an hour before potential rain or snowstorm for guest safety. And the pool would not re-open until the potential thunderstorm is long over. The building must nothave proper grounding and safety measure in place to protect members from an outside lightning strike. I have never been ask to leave an indoor pool during a potential lightning storm anywhere else.

My son has a teen membership & he comes often for sports. Summer hours started & online it says closes at 8pm..but my son was just standing outside at 6pm because in actuality the building closed at 6pm but the outdoor pool & only the outdoor pool closes at 8..if your in the building at 6pm on the weekends yoy must leave at 6pm!!!

We have been members here since my son was born. The childcare is excellent, and the gym equipment is constantly being updated. They have everything you need.
