I love this gym! The staff are so friendly, helpful, and supportive. The facility is always clean and never too crowded to work out! I am so happy I found a new place to work out after moving to the area.

I have been a member of Planet Fitness for 6 months without incident. Being a Black Card member I go to a number of locations. So what I am about to say, does not appear reflective of a usual incident at this gym. Nevertheless, it was unnerving enough to spur me to write this review.First and foremost, after doing some checking, I took note that each location is a franchise. As such, they have different owners. So what is true at one gym may be different at others. This review is for the Alexandria location at 5960 Richmond Highway, off of Route 1, in northern Virginia.Last night was my second visit to that location. First time, went without incident. However after what I just experienced, I will definitely be reluctant to visit that branch again. Everything I am about to share is in the wake of my husband voicing his dislike of this location, due to rude front desk staff.Anyway, last night when I walked into that gym the night janitor was rather leisurely engrossed in conversation with the front desk attendant. I had no problem with that. However, trouble began when I took notice that as soon as I started to make my way from checking in at the front desk to the locker room, the janitor halted her conversation and started following me on foot. Shortly thereafter, as I began to undress in a private cubicle she opened my room's door without knocking. After asking her to leave, she apologized and left.Yet if that was not enough, after getting dressed and exiting tbe cubicle, there was an adult male (a man) standing in the middle of the women's bathroom with the same woman janitor. I reported this to the front desk attendant and her response was a threat to call the police. According to her " I was raising my voice". After all I had no reason to be upset that a strange man almost saw me naked and I was never notified that he, the purported maintenance person, was in the women's locker room. Remember, this happened right after the janitor opened abruptly opened the door of my dressing room.BEWARE of this location!

I really like Planet Fitness. It's everything it claims to be. I do wish they had a bit more equipment (a rowing machine would be AWESOME!) but there are size constraints to the building. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the other patrons are very polite and usually friendly. It's a diverse crowd: old, young, multi-racial, fit, fat... everyone goes there and it's great. I've never had anything but a positive experience.

Great gym. Kept clean and always has machines open. Also can't beat the price.There was one time in the morning a few months ago when I wanted to use the hydro-massage bed and went back there to find a homeless couple sleeping in it, but that hasn't happened since so five stars 🙌

This is a great location. Very clean and machines are almost always available. I appreciate that they have more than enough equipment to accommodate the areas demands.The trainers are awesome as well. Oscar is a great training instructor. He always seems happy to assist and provide you with positive feedback.

Overall good value. Been a member for about 1 1/2 years. Over that time, I think maintenance and cleanliness of the gym has declined. When things break (showers, sinks etc.) it is taking too long to get fixed. Locker room area, showers, sinks are not being kept as clean. Don't think it would take much to make things better - seems to be plenty of staff, who are generally helpful and friendly.

This location is awesome! The staff is great. The facility is perfectly clean. Equipment is in excellent working order. Plus, if you are a black card member the massage chairs and tanning beds are a huge bonus. AND you can bring a guest with you everytime! Love it.

Planet fitness has changed my life. I cannot thank the staff enough on how much they have helped me during my transformation. To make a long story short, coming on April two years ago, I weighed upwards of 300lbs. Since then I have lost over 140lbs. If it wasn’t for the people of Planet Fitness I do not know if I could have ever have reached my goals. That’s why it is sad to see that someone would comment on Mario’s ability to manage. I have known Mario since the first day I joined Planet Fitness in mid-2014. Always showing the highest standard of professionalism towards his staff and me. If there is a problem, he fixes it. Always willing to help out and very approachable. I have never heard a negative thing come out of his mouth. I see him almost on a daily basis and has never done anything of the sort. If you are looking for a gym that is always clean, never crowed and has a staff that of the highest caliber, this is the gym for you! I am proud to call this gym the best out there!!

Great place, can't beat the price. I've known some of the core staff off and on for almost three years since they came over from the other Alexandria location and they are always friendly and bother to do more than just remember my name, which is a rarity in the world now adays. The place is always clean, generally not too crowded unless you go mid rush hour in the evening. Would like more adjustable weights, like empty bars, but it's not that kind of gym and for the price it can't be beat.

I started going to the Kenmore PF location in May of 2012, made the switch over to the Huntington PF in January 2015, and I love going to this gym! I workout there just about every day (many employees can attest to that) and always have a positive experience, from the beginning to the end of my workout! The staff at the front often go out of their way to make members feels welcome and seem to know many of their customers on a first name basis, which goes above and beyond my expectations of customer service. The machines are kept clean by both members and staff and any issues with out-of-order machines/equipment have fast resolution turn around. While this gym franchise might not be the most expensive (it's probably the most affordable gym out there!), the service and quality of experience exceeds expectations.
