The Alaska Club Eagle River offers a well-maintained, vibrant gym experience in the Eagle River Medical Plaza. With 24-hour access, comprehensive equipment, and a positive atmosphere fostered by friendly staff, this gym aims to support diverse fitness goals. Members appreciate the clean facilities, wide variety of classes, and child-friendly amenities that make it a great choice for families. However, issues like locker room ventilation, equipment maintenance, and inconsistent pool and sauna hours can detract from the overall experience.

Many rave about the welcoming environment, exceptional instructors, and supportive community. Yet, concerns about customer service, high membership costs, and management decisions occasionally surface. Despite some drawbacks, the gym's extensive offerings, including swimming programs and a fun indoor play area, make it a strong contender in the fitness community.

  • Open 24 hours daily.
  • Friendly, professional staff.
  • Clean and well-maintained equipment.
  • Wide range of classes for all fitness levels.
  • Child-friendly amenities and activities.
  • Great swimming programs for kids and adults.
  • Supportive and motivational community.
  • Comprehensive equipment for full-body workouts.
  • Various amenities like sauna and whirlpool available.
  • Excellent childcare services.

Cons:

  • Locker room ventilation issues.
  • High membership costs.
  • Inconsistent maintenance of equipment and amenities.

I love this gym… however, the only thing is, I just wish the hot tub, steam room & sauna had longer open hours every day, they close them down way too early every day!! People that work late don’t have enough time to enjoy that part of the gym… & for the money we pay for our membership, they should have longer open hours for at least the steam room & sauna!

I’ve been coming to Eagle River Alaska club and other Alaska clubs for a year and I’ve been very impressed with them. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. They do a great job at having equipment for a full body workout. I also attended a few classes and those were great as well; overall I give them five stars and it's been the best Gym membership experience I’ve had yet.

Very overpriced (100-105$ a month) unless you are a family that wants pool access. Gym equipment and variety is mediocre, far worse than their less expensive Silver level club at West, and they are slow to repair/replace some equipment. Unfortunately it's this or Planet Fitness in Eagle River, though.

The Alaska Club in Eagle River is alright. I go to the gym 4-5 times a week. The gym has multiple treadmills that are always down. So if there are 4 people running, the other 5 are down and don’t work. The gym only goes to 100 lb dumbbells. I have asked for years for the gym to get heavier dumbbells, I shoulder press 100 lb dumbbells for 8-10 reps and I can’t go heavier because they are not available. I’m not getting my Gains!!!!

Staff is very nice, welcoming, and helpful. Locker Rooms could use a facelift. But the gym is clean and well organized. I would appreciate more Zumba classes 😃 …

Lara was amazing. She helped me stay motivated and on my level. She looked for alternatives that met my needs. She checked in and made sure I didn’t have questions. I found success and hope to continue on this path.

Dustin and Ross in the membership office were very friendly. People talk about not getting customer service like years ago but these two really know their business and are so welcoming!! Thank you!!!

I just found out that on the weekends I can't bring my kids in the gym past 6 o'clock. Now I understand that after hours they don't want a bunch of kids running around. But for as much money as we pay, if I wanna go work out at 2:00 in the morning and I decide to bring my kids with me (who are older by the way,but not 18) I should be allowed the right to do that. And as long as they're not running around and playing on equipment who cares if I bring my kids at 2 or 3:00 in the morning? What if my 9 year old son just wanted to come with me and sit on the bench?I can't do that? This is ridiculous for as much money as we pay.

I attempted to book a party for my kid 3 times and still havent recieved a single response. I went in person after the first attempt but was told that the booking manager was already gone for the day although it was only 3pm, and that email was the best method of communication for them. Apparently that was incorrect as direct email got the same lack of response as the booking request on their website. I'm done trying to give them my money- they clearly dont need any business or want it.
